Every so often a duo pops up and you’re just kind of mesmerized by it. Ok, a little more than ‘every so often’ but when the Illyrian Polish Winter Duo showed up on Color4Nails, I snapped it up.

Usually I receive exclusives from Color4Nails to share, but for this one, I didn’t even wait for the offer just in case it sold out and never came back (don’t worry it did though!) and it’s a Color4Nails exclusive duo.

Let’s take a closer look!

 Winter Morning

Winter Morning is a sheer indigo blue base packed with green to blue and teal iridescent glitters, white flakes, holo micro glitter and a blue to pink shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats for these photos and a thick topcoat. The polish does dry down with a texture because of all the glittery bits mixed in so you might need to double up on top coat.

I did find that I had to almost float the first coat on, otherwise I was swiping the glitter up too far on my tips and leaving bald patches. Once the first coat was on (and glitter properly distributed) the second and third coats weren’t an issue at all.

Winter Twilight

Winter Twilight is a deep grape purple jelly base packed with copper holo glitters, red to green iridescent glitter, purple to pink flakes and purple micro flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

In normal lights, 2 coats was fine. As you can see though, some areas looked a bit sheer and that’s purely because my lighting was hitting it straight on. It’s still pretty decent coverage for a jelly base.

Illyrian Polish Winter Duon Overview

Both shades are incredibly pretty and look different in all sorts of lighting. The various shifting glitters and shimmer help with that a lot, but both are really nicely done shades that would really be perfect for special occasions. I had no application issues other than the small application technique I needed to use for Winter Morning noted under the photo.
