Let’s be honest – we all want to believe our kids are perfect little angels. For the most part, that may be true, but then you walk into your 12 year old’s room and it smells like something may have died in there.
Yup – that’s the life of having a growing boy.
My son is a sweater. Always has been. It can be the dead of Winter and he will be a sweaty mess in his sleep. It wasn’t so bad when he was 3 or 4 years old, but now? Whew – no no no. When he turned 6, I started getting him into the routine of good hygiene. You wash all the body parts, apply deodorant and brush your teeth. Back then, we had to be careful about what he used because he still had really delicate skin, but the kiddie stuff stopped cutting it when he hit 10. That’s when AXE came into play.
Why AXE? When he turned 10, he was more comfortable with himself and his personality. When we go to Kroger to do our shopping and replenish his hygiene products, he was drawn to their fun packaging and scent selection. I still remember the first time I let him pick out his first AXE products, he was in the aisle for what seemed like an hour sniffing all their different scents. It not only gave him a sense of being closer to an adult, but it also allowed him to express his personality.
Much like everyone else in the world, as he grew – his personality shifted a bit and his tastes changed, but he was always able to find AXE products that were more in line with his current tastes.
Over the last 2 months, his tastes changed yet again – so while shopping at Kroger, he picked out new scents to try. When he said “Can I get more than one set?” who was I to say no? My kid wants to smell good – and I won’t turn say no to good hygiene.
Why did he want more than 1? For different scent options!
Want to see what he picked out?
There were 2 different AXE lines he was interested in. He liked the scent of both for different reasons.
One that he has tried before and is now going back to is AXE Phoenix. This is his current favorite every day scent. It’s clean and fresh and perfect for school. The scent isn’t overpowering either. I actually bought him 2 sticks of deodorant in Phoenix – one for home and one for his backpack (that PE smell is no joke)
AXE Phoenix is his current go-to daily use body wash and deodorant. The scent of both linger on him too – so he keeps a nice, refreshing scent on his skin throughout the day.
Now for his new pick! It’s new, because it’s new to the AXE lineup and a very welcomed addition!
The AXE Gold body wash and antiperspirant have an Oud Wood and Dark Vanilla scent which is much more grown up and as Jacob says – his special occasion products. He’s going to a BLINK 182 concert this weekend, so he cannot wait to use the new AXE Gold body wash and antiperspirant for it!
Much like the AXE Phoenix products – the scent of these (he wore them out to dinner with us 2 weeks ago) lingers on his skin just enough that you get a slight woodsy scent with vanilla mixed in.
Having your child grow right before your eyes is incredible. From picking out their own clothes and books to making hygiene choices they are happy with. Their personality shines through, and I’ve found that Jacob is more excited about good hygiene when he has a say in what products he uses. The AXE line has a nice, wide range of scents to choose from – and on top of body wash and deodorant/antiperspirant, they also have matching 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner combos and body sprays.
Make sure the men (both the adult ones and the little ones!) in your life are stocked up! Now through 5/27, you can save $2.00 on any TWO (2) Axe products (excludes trial and travel sizes) at Kroger! For more info, click HERE

Wow, Axe has such a huge product line now! And I can’t believe that your son is at the Axe age already :)
Do I ever remember my son’s body odor changing. I got to the point that I didn’t want to walk into his room. But using good products does make a difference plus it makes them more confident.
That’s so cute that he’s taking an interest!
Boy are you in for it, teenagers are so fun–NOT! I’ve heard boys are easier than girls though.
Good to know you start him young w/ hygiene. Your future daughter in law will thank you for that, lol
It’s so cool that he’s interested in these products!
My sons are obsessed with all the AXE products, and I’m encouraging it so that their room doesn’t smell like teenagers socks anymore lol.
My husband likes Axe too. I don’t remember the scent, I think it’s something like Dark Temptation.
My husband uses Axe and loves it. I don’t have any boys, but I can imagine with all the running around and sports, Axe would be very useful indeed.
That’s great that your son wants to keep on top of his hygiene. I have some friends who are middle school teachers and they said that there can be some serious body odor going on!
I’m sure my son will be using Axe soon. Right now his probably is smelly feet. He’s only 9, but his feet just reek. When he gets home from school I always tell him to take off his socks and let his feet breath because ugh if he has a problem with that now, I don’t want to know what he’ll be like in puberty. He sweats really badly as well too.
My 12-year-old son is a sweater as well and Axe is his go-to brand for hygiene! I’ll definitely have to get the latest product for him.
Axe is one of the trusted product in here. It’s great that there are choices available!
Axe is one of the leading men brands in our country. My father, brother and my husband also use this brand for so many years and I admit I really the smell of this brand.
Our teen son loves their cologne and he has been using it for a few years now. I like the smell of it too because it’s not too strong.
I buy Axe products for my husband. I especially love the body wash. I really like the Phoenix scent. I think it’s my favorite.
Teaching them good hygiene from a young age is so very important. I’m glad to hear he found a line of products that make him feel good, too.
is it bad that i actually prefer to wear men’s deodorant? i feel like it works the best for me.
It seems Axe is right of passage for many teens, mine included. Thank goodness, because they smell better!
