It’s now officially the 14th on the East Coast, so I can officially share The Holo Hookup May 2017 Off To Broadway!

For May 2017, The Holo Hookup’s theme is Off To Broadway.  Each polish is inspired by a Broadway musical. Below is the inspiration photos used for this month’s theme

As always, I’ll do a quick rundown for those new to The Holo Hookup!

This is an all holographic box and each month it will have 3 constant indie makers in it – Glisten & Glow, DIFFERENT dimension and Cupcake Polish. Each month there will also be one “guest” contributor, and for May 2017 the guest maker is Cadillacquer!

Cadillacquer has been on my blog several times, and her creations are generally a bit more unique. Her combinations of finishes with glitters and colors are fabulous.

The May box will be handled a bit differently because the lovely Cadillacquer is in Switzerland and to ensure speedy shipping on these boxes, the polishes had to be made and shipped way earlier with no way to anticipate how many preorders will be placed. Anyone who’s purchased from overseas knows that sometimes you get packages in a week, sometimes in a month. Because of this, the May box will NOT be pre-order as usual. Instead it will be a first come, first serve basis. For the first 48 hours there will be a 1 box limit in place.  After the 48 hours are over, unlimited boxes can be ordered. Any orders containing more then 1 box in the 1st 48 hours will be canceled and refunded.

Cupcake Polish – Defying Gravity

Cupcake Polish Defying Gravity is inspired by Elphaba from Wicked! This is a medium lime green linear holographic with gold shimmer, gold microflakes and holographic microglitters. I used 2 easy coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Different Dimension – I Am Not Throwing Away My Shot

Different Dimension I Am Not Throwing Away My Shot was inspired by Hamilton! This is a metallic brown linear holographic with copper and gold shimmers as well as gold microflakes. I used 2 easy coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Glisten & Glow – Bend & Snap

Glisten & Glow Bend & Snap was inspired by Legally Blonde! I think everyone kind of knew this one! This is a punch pink linear holographic with coral undertones, as well as platinum flakes and scattered turquoise flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Cadillacquer – Sing Once Again With Me

Cadillacquer Sing Once Again With Me is inspired by Phantom of the Opera. This was actually the first musical I saw in San Francisco when I was a sophomore in high school, so this one is kind of special to me. I remember getting all decked out to see it with some friends and it was incredible. It was such an amazing experience.

Cadillacquer Sing Once Again With Me is a pale silver linear holographic with red shimmer and red and black microglitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The Holo Hookup May 2017 Off To Broadway Overview

I love musicals. Growing up, my mom and I used to watch musicals a lot (Fiddler on the Roof is her favorite) and as I said, I’ve seen Phantom Of The Opera live. I haven’t been able to see the others live though ( but I do want to)

In comparison to other The Holo Hookup Boxes, I feel like this one had 4 polishes that aren’t really like any of the others. I’m not complaining about past boxes, I love them all really – but this one has more toned down shades that are still very eye catching.

As I said earlier, because Cadillacquer is in Switzerland, the ladies behind The Holo Hookup didn’t want a shipment delay, so a set amount of polishes were made and shipped to the states. This made it so the May box couldn’t be a preorder like usual. Boxes are first come, first serve and a limit of 1 box per customer for the first 48 hours. If someone purchases more than 1 box in the first 48, the order will be cancelled and refunded.

Keep in mind, if the boxes sell out before April 28th, the order window will close as soon as they are sold out. Boxes will begin shipping on April 25th.
