Last month I was a couple days early posting The Holo Hookup, and this month I’m running a little behind! BUT today is the last day of tax season (HOORAY!) and I’ve been playing catchup all day yesterday (my only day off the past few weeks have been Sundays) and I’m finally ready to post The Holo Hookup May 2016 Indie Collaboration Box!

Quick rundown for those new to The Holo Hookup!

This is an all holographic box and each month it will have 3 constant indie makers in it –Glisten & Glow, DIFFERENT dimension and Cupcake Polish. Each month there will also be one “guest” contributor, and for May 2016 the guest is Painted Polish! 

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Painted Polish a few times, so I already knew having her as a guest contributor would be a great fit.

Each of The Holo Hookup Boxes have a theme, and this months theme is ‘From The Holo Hookup, With Love…‘ and below is the inspiration photo

Cupcake Polish – From Cancun, With Love

Cupcake Polish From Cancun, With Love is a green tinged aqua super linear holographic with subtle iridescent flakes mixed in. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Different Dimension – From Cairo, With Love

Different Dimension From Cairo, With Love is a golden beige linear holographic with a subtle pink flash to it and added silver holographic microglitters. The pink flash is so difficult to capture, but much more obvious in person than in my photos. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Painted Polish – From London, With Love

Painted Polish From London, With Love is a vibrant blue grey linear holographic with silver holographic galaxy glitter mixed in. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Glisten & Glow – From Tokyo, With Love

Glisten & Glow From Tokyo, With Love is a reddened coral linear holographic with added pink shimmers and holographic microglitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

My camera was picking up a TON of red in this polish, but it’s more toned down in person. The last photo shows my cell phone shot of this shade and it’s more color accurate than my camera shots.

Above is actually much closer to the actual shade. Corals are tricky at times.

Holo Hookup May 2016 Indie Collaboration Box Overview

This is a nice, bright and beautiful box. All 4 makers did a lovely job capturing their inspiration photos in a bottle. For a holo themed box, I do think Painted Polish was a great addition for it since her holographic polishes are always amazing. I had no application issues with any of the shades.
