You know what gets me excited as a blogger? New hair care items. Even before I was a blogger, I got super excited about trying out new products on my hair. When I heard about ApotheCARE Essentials coming to CVS, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.

ApotheCARE Essentials has a few different lines that focus on different hair care needs. Color treated hair or damaged hair? They have you covered.  For my hair, The Booster line from ApotheCARE Essentials is perfect.

ApotheCARE Essentials The Booster builds weightless, thicker-looking volume and enhances natural movement. I have a lot of hair, but it’s fine and flat for the most part, which irritates me to no end. Why give me all this hair that does nothing and looks lifeless?  So if your hair is fine and/or flat – The Booster set is for you.

What makes ApotheCARE Essentials different? They use cutting-edge scientific technology, as well as specially selected ingredients inspired by nature and powered by science. From the scent to performance, you get a simply superior look and feel.  ApotheCARE Essentials wanted  to find the right kind of way to bring the right blend of apothecary spirit, mixed with the modern ingredients of beauty products to meet both individual hair and skin care needs.

ApotheCARE Essentials The Booster  Shampoo and Conditioner  are made with a high-quality essence of timeless ingredients known for their strengthening properties, like cold pressed rosehip oil, steam distilled geranium, and distilled aloe vera. It also contains no parabens, dyes or silicones.

I think what surprised me the most was the scent. A lot of hair care products that I’ve used had a really synthetic scent. I knew what they were going for, but it didn’t have that authentic smell to it. When I first used ApotheCARE Essentials The Booster shampoo and conditioner, the rosehip oil came out and it smelled like actual roses. Not the old grandma type rose scent, but the stunningly classic roses. The scent also lingered in my hair after my shower was over, but it wasn’t overwhelming.

Okay so I liked the scent, but how was it?

One word: Amazing.

The ApotheCARE Essentials shampoo had a nice, thick texture that lathered nicely and coated my hair easily as I massaged it in, and it rinsed out clean. I didn’t feel like it had stripped my hair (you know that straw feeling some shampoos give?) which I was incredibly happy with. The conditioner was also on the thicker side and I smoothed it easily into my hair, let sit for 3 minutes while I used my body wash and then rinsed it cleanly out.

When I got out of the shower, my hair was easy to manage, smelled incredibly and once dry it had amazing movement.

As I mentioned earlier, ApotheCARE Essentials has a few different lines depending on your hair care needs:

The Mender – A solution for damaged hair thats helps to repair and nourish.

The Replenisher – A solution for dry hair that moisturizes for smoothness and manageability.

The Colorist – A solution for color-treated hair that amplifies vibrancy and shine.

The Booster (which we covered here) – A solution for fine and flat hair that enhances natural movement.

All of the ApotheCARE Essentials lines are very straight forward for what they are focused on for your hair, so it takes a lot of the guesswork out.

Ready to be amazed? ApotheCARE Essentials is currently available in limited release at CVS, but is also available on the CVS website.

I used to eat rose hips as a kid. They are super nutritious so I’ll bet this shampoo is awesome.
