Disclosure: Post sponsored by Mirum Shopper but all opinions are my own.
I’ve mentioned in the past that my son is 12 now and he’s finding his own identity. He’s over the kid products and moved on up to the grown up grooming section. When he first had the chance to pick out his own deodorant and body wash – he immediately went for AXE products. The scents and the more sophisticated look of the bottles drew him in.
Now he’s got his mind on his hair. In the last 6 months he’s wanted specific styles, but as we all know – that takes products. So we went to CVS in search of hair products just for him. Luckily AXE has him covered for hair too!
He already went through the “Beckham” clean cut phase, and for Summer he wants to grow his hair out for a messier look. He’s looking a little shaggy right now, and he has a hair appointment to clean up the back and sides, but he wants the rest longer.
Jacob has thicker hair (like me!) that grows insanely fast, so we need good products that will keep up with him.
We ended up grabbing 2 different AXE Styling hair products – Messy Look Flexible Paste (since he’s into the messier look right now) but we also grabbed Clean Cut Look Pomade in case he ends up wanting a shorter ‘do and wants to change things up.
AXE Messy Look Paste is a medium hold paste for that fun, messy look. It has a natural finish for an “I woke up like this” style. The AXE Messy Look Paste allows him to style his hair, but you can rework it and reshape it throughout the day.
Here’s moms favorite – AXE Clean Cut Look Pomade. I personally prefer his hair shorter and a little more styled, so we grabbed this one just in case he has a change of mind with his current style.
AXE Clean Cut Look Pomade has medium hold and a shine finish. This is for a more structured style in an instant and lets you stay in control.
Both AXE products are easy to use and a little goes a long way! You only need a fingertip amount, then mix it between your fingers and work it through your hair to style.
We’ve been loving the entire AXE line in our household! I get a fresh and clean young man, he gets to express his individuality through the scents and products AXE provides. It’s a Win/Win situation! I’ve also noticed that since I gave him the freedom to pick his own products – he’s had more confidence in himself and really blossomed as a young man.
Now through June 13th AXE products are Buy 1 Get 1 50% off (the other reason we picked up 2 different AXE styling products!) You can also earn $4 ExtraBucks Rewards (limit of 1 ExtraBucks Reward Offers per household with card) when you Buy 2 AXE products.
You can help your son express himself this Summer by heading to CVS and finding the AXE Styling product that’s right for them!

That is so awesome! My husband and sone love AXE. I had no idea they made pomade, too. Woot!
These sound like some great products for teen boys and older as well! I shall have to mention it to my OH as it sounds like stuff he would be interested in!
Whenever I have a kid, I know it will be a BOYYYYY and my husband will totally help him the expression department for sure!
I wish I knew about this. It is very interesting how each an every CVS sell different items in there stores. Great post and thank you sharing.
I like this idea of letting kids express themselves. Also encouraging boys to get creative with their looks and style. My youngest is only 7 but he has strong opinions on his hair and has me use gel in it a few times. I only use what I have, so getting something just for him would be good to do!
Axe products are a great selection. My husband uses this brand all the time. It’s one of his favorites.
My son started out on Axe products! They are affordable and work so well for younger men. I know some adult men who still use it! Easy to grab on the go too!
Sounds like a great hair product! My husband has been using Axe products for years. Great quality!
While my son is a little too young, he loves hair gel once in awhile. His father LOVES the Axe products. I enjoy the scents.
I so love the smell of most axe products so i can see why boys/men would like it too.
Sound like a great product My husband like axe products. And my son is just couple more years away from using these products.
