Happy Sunday! Hella Handmade Creations is currently in full swing and still has a couple of days left to shop – and while I am still playing catchup from being sick – I do have my blog post and video ready to go (I skipped video last month because of the coughing fits) So… I have 27 items to share this month for the May 2024 Hella Handmade Creations shop!
I didn’t fully realize how many I had this month until it was time to do the video.. but I have 27 items this month, and it’s surprisingly neurtral and purple heavy. I’m not used to all the beigey type shades. To see all 27 items swatched/shown – check out my YouTube below:
For the fine details, I do use Apres Gel X Nails in Extra Short Stiletto which are clear nails. I do not use blurring base coats or anything to increase opacity of the nails – and it shows during my YouTube videos especially. With the clear nails, if you can see through the tip still – then odds are you will also see VNL through the polish I have on. If you cannot see through them, then opacity was likely reached
I work during the day in a medical office, and on weekends I enjoy day time shenanigans with my son – so most of my swatching is done at night in studio lighting. I also use a fairly basic, older point and shoot camera (Nikon L830) and I don’t do any fun frills to be fancy cause I don’t know how, if we’re being completely honest.
I used Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues Peel Off Base, and for the glossy photos I did Monarch Lacquer Hi-Def Shine Top coat (sent as PR and I’ve also purchased.. and that’s an affiliate link). For all textured polishes, I did use Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber (PR) and Monarch Lacquer top coat over it.
For my lighting setup, since I use artificial lighting due to my day job, involves 2 Neatfi XL Lamps from Amazon (affiliate link) as well as this Daylight Company Duo Daylight Lamp (affiliate link).

Theme: Star Wars Travel Posters
Description: Ancient Abyss is a dusky mauve crelly nail lacquer with green to blue to purple large particle shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This base looks more medium lavender with the shimmer content.

Description: Dance By The Light of the Moon is a solar polish that reacts to UV light (either natural or artificial) and this one is a light blue (indoor) to deep purple (outdoor) with blue to green to purple iridescent flakes and fuchsia to blue to green to purple multichrome flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I did use a UV flashlight to transition for these photos since I swatch at night.

Theme: Mythological Creatures
Description: Fairy Kisses Cuticle Oil is a 6mL click style brush pen with a twist off cap. This is a chunky pen that’s comfortable to hold and double the size of normal 3mL pens.
Fairy Kisses is a scent blend of blackberry, strawberry, raspberry, orange zest, mulberry, plum, sage, jasmine and violet.
To my nose, this smells almost like a deliciously fruity potpourri… it’s super fruity with some soothing floral notes. The berry scents and jasmine are strongest to me.

Description: When I use Tamesies in my hair, I add a few squirts into my hand, rub my palms together and scrunch the product into my damp hair after a shower. I do have long, thick but fine hair, curly hair – so I do require about 4-5 pumps of product for my hair. I avoid the top of my head because my scalp tends to be oily, but the ends dry out and Tamesies has helped a ton, plus is adds a nice scent to my hair. This can also be used on the skin for cuticles, or rougher bits like elbows or knees
Combing The Desert scent is cactus and sea salt.
This is a really nice neutral scent. It’s something Nick, Jacob or I could wear. It almost reminds me of a more unisex like cucumber type scent that I think Bath & Body Works had.
