Happy Tuesday! It’s been busy this week, but I was finally able to get this post up. It’s time for my Hella Handmade Creations January 2024 post!
I have 15 of this month’s products to share. The video only has 13 of the 15 in it because the Phoenix shades arrived late and I didn’t know they’d be in there. I might do a quick IG application video though to show them.

For the fine details – for all photos shown – I used Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues Peel Off Base, and for the glossy photos I did Monarch Lacquer Hi-Def Shine Top coat (sent as PR and I’ve also purchased.. and that’s an affiliate link). For all textured polishes, I did use Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber (PR) and Monarch Lacquer top coat over it.
For my lighting setup, since I use artificial lighting due to my day job, involves 2 Neatfi XL Lamps from Amazon (affiliate link) as well as this Daylight Company Duo Daylight Lamp (affiliate link).
And lastly – I do use artificial gel nails that I do myself at home. In this post (and video) I am using Apres Gel X Nails in Extra Short Stiletto.

Alchemy Lacquers | Forest Moon
Theme: Star Wars Travel Posters
Description: Forest Moon is a sea green jelly (borderline crelly) base with cyan to blue to purple shifting flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This is a very difficult shade to capture and I did the best I could with my camera and photoshop. In person – the polish is a bit more blue and a bit deeper in person. It’s a stunning shade, but photographs fairly muted.

Description: Cocoa Powder is a clear base with large particle orange to pink to gold aurora shimmer with a mix of micro and small brown metallic glitters and coppery brown irregular flake like glitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. Final image shows Cocoa Powder over a black creme.

This is a bit deeper toned in person. My camera really picked up the pinkish tones

Theme: Animal Magnetism
Description: Paint Me Like One Of Your French Squirrels is an orange to olive green multichrome loaded with red magnetic shimmer and scattered holo micro flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
The magnetic effect is on the subtle side, and I only magnetized the middle and ring nails to show it both ways.

Description: Lucy & Ethel BFF is a green to purple to yellow multichrome with blue to purple magnetic pigment and scattered holo. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I only magnetized the middle and ring nail so you can see it both ways.

Red Eyed Lacquer | Da Balmer in Carnation Sensation (Paid PR)
Theme: Birth Flowers
Description: Da Balm-er is a cross between a balm and body butter. It’s creamy like a body butter but has a more emollient feel like a balm would. It’s an intensive treatment you can use anywhere (I love it on cuticles of course) but a little goes a long way. If you use too much – it will feel very oily (like a balm would) so start with a little and build up if you need more.
Carnation Sensation is described as Sea Salt and Orchids and to my nose, this does have a nice, almost earthly floral tone with a slight hint of sweetness. Very mature and classic type scent.

Red Eyed Lacquer | What In Carnation?! (Paid PR)
Theme: Birth Flowers
Description: What In Carnation?! is a light green (cold) to white (warm) crelly based thermal packed with orange to green to gold shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
The warm color does go to a pure white. It was very cold this month and my hands were popsicles – so getting it to stay “warm” long enough for photos was nearly impossible.

Description: There’s No Place Like… Hangin’ With My Homies is a black (cold) to strawberry pink (warm) jelly based thermal with red glitters and green to blue to violet shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
The official description says Black to Red thermal, but it looks more blackened purple to strawberry pink on me.
