Happy Saturday! It’s that time again and I have 19 Hella Handmade Creations goodies to share for August 2023!
There are 19 items this month – 18 are monthly offerings and one is an Encore item (I think it’s called Encore) which brings back a previously released polish. You can see all 19 on my YouTube now – so be sure to check that out:
This month brings another great assortment of colors.
For the fine details – for all photos shown – I used Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues Peel Off Base, and Sweet & Sour Lacquer Gloss Sauce . I purchased the Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues, Sweet & Sour Lacquer gifted me their Gloss Sauce.
For my lighting setup, since I use artificial lighting due to my day job, involves 2 Neatfi XL Lamps from Amazon (affiliate link) as well as this Daylight Company Duo Daylight Lamp (affiliate link).
And lastly – I do use artificial gel nails that I do myself at home. In this post (and video) I am using Apres Gel X Nails in Extra Short Stiletto.

Description: Smuggler’s Moon is a mauve leaning lilac crelly base with cyan blue to purple shifting shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

All Mixed Up Lacquer | Under a Thousand Stars
Theme: My Maker Playlist series (music I listen to while mixing polish)
Description: Under A Thousand Stars is a shimmery warm purple jelly base loaded with scattered holo, a variety of shifting flakes, as well as white, pink , blue and rose holo glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This is actually fairly opaque in 2 medium to thick coats, but I wanted more glittery depth so I did 3 thin coats.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | A Legend Has Begun (PAID PR)
Theme: Ice Nine Kills
Description: A Legend Has Begun is a persimmon orange jelly base with gold to green shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This shade is super sheer on application but the shimmer helps build it up to opacity quickly

Theme: Desserts and Pastries
Description: Mint Chocolate Chip is a pale minty green crelly base with copper to gold to green aurora micro flecks and brown matte irregular glitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This shade is on the chalky side with application, which sometimes is the case with more pastel like bases. It does require thicker coats to avoid streaking as much as possible and so when you add top coat it gives it a plumper look and almost blends the streaks in.

Description: Barney Copter is a shimmery multichrome base that shifts burgundy to gold to green to blue at extreme angles, with red to gold to green flakes as well as holographic micro flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Theme: Women in Control – this shade is inspired by Mission Impossible’s White Widow.
Description: WW is a white crelly base loaded with orange to gold to green shifting aurora shimmer, as well as copper and violet micro flecks. I used 2 coats and a glossy to coat for these photos.

Theme: Hello Kitty & Friends
Description: This Is How I Roll is a light but bright blue crelly base with pink and yellow matte star glitters, as well as assorted pink, blue and white glitters, and a subtle touch of pink to gold shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats, a glitter smoothing topper and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Due to the glitter load – this will require either 2 thick coats of top coat or the assistance of a glitter smoothing topper and then top coat.

Description: The Sun Came Out is a sheer jelly based sunny yellow with red to orange to green shifting shimmer and holo micro flakes. I used 3 thin coats and was able to build to opacity due to the shimmer content.

Description: Get Ready is a yellow leaning orange jelly base with gold metallic flakes as well as pink to gold to green iridescent flakes mixed in and a touch of aurora shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Paradox Polish | Maybe You’ll Even Make Some Friends
Theme: Wednesday Series
Description: Maybe You’ll Even Make Some Friends is a medium grape purple crelly base with red, black and silver holo flakes as well as silver holo microglitters. I used 3 thin coats, a thin coat of glitter smoother and top coat for these photos.
This shade dries with a slight texture, so I did use a thin layer of glitter smoother.

Description: Edward is a topper and it’s a copper magnetic with blue to green to purple flakes and green reflective glitter. I used 1 coat over Bella for these photos.
I was not given any info on these shades and was unaware this was a magnetic – so I didn’t magnetize it. So here you see it completely unmagnetized. Sorry! Usually Penelope Luz is really good about adding a magnet sticker on it to let us know.

Red Eyed Lacquer | Glad To See You Cuticle Oil (PAID PR)
Theme: Birth Month Flowers
Description: Glad To See You is a cuticle oil scented in a house blend of strawberries and cream, white peaches and hibiscus! This is a really nice sweet and fruity blend and you can smell the plump, juicy strawberry the most. I can’t detect a peach scent really – but the hibiscus also adds a sweet, subtle floral note.
This comes in a 5ml roller ball perfect for traveling. It fits nicely in a pocket or your purse without taking up too much space.

It’s definitely a more mixed color month – which is nice. Purple does dominate a bit among the polishes I received.

Amazing swatches as always. Thank you for all your work and beautiful photography. Nobody else compares to your work showing off all those shimmers and shifts! The way you capture the tone, hue, depth, etc…it’s precisely what I see in person when I wear the polish on my nails. .
