The Sunset Dissected Collection
Happy Sunday! Today I have the Great Lakes Lacquer The Sunset Dissected Collection to share with you!
The Sunset Dissected Collection itself consists of 6 polishes, and then I also have 2 March Limited Edition shades to share with you. All 8 shades will go up in the shop on March 7th, but the 2 March Limited Edition shades will only be up until April 2nd.
Ready to jump in? My mind is just mush right now from a weekend of birthday parties for my son.
The Last Sliver of Sun
The Last Sliver of Sun is a buttery yellow crelly base with bronze to gold to green multichrome flakes and rosy pearl flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Disappearing Daylight
Disappearing Daylight is a dusty periwinkle with gold and bronze shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Last Remaining Light
Last Remaining Light is a medium blurple with shifting pink shimmer (gold to green at angles to the light) and a slight scattered holographic effect.I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Lavender Light
Lavender Light is a creamy medium lavender with shifting pink to gold glass fleck.I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Sailor’s Delight
Sailor’s Delight is a squishy deep red leaning orange with orange shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
The shimmer was shy for my photos, but it’s a very delicate, beautifully done addition to this shade.
Washed in Magenta
Washed in Magenta is a deep violet red loaded shifting blue and purple shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Next are the 2 March Limited Editions!
Sunset Reassembled
Sunset Reassembled is a deep red with a slight multichrome shift from red to purple to copper to gold. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
A Rainbow for Your Sunset
A Rainbow for Your Sunset is a holographic topcoat full of holographic micro flake as well as different multichrome flake. I used 1 coat over Sailor’s Delight!
Great Lakes Lacquer The Sunset Dissected Collection Overview
So first I want to mention that I received this collection over a month ago, along with a few other bloggers. The formulas were thick and difficult to work with. Instead of putting them out as is, Great Lakes Lacquer pulled them to reformulate – and what I’m showing here is the reformulated collection. It seriously makes my heart sing when I see a maker who takes their bloggers opinions into mind, values their brand and does what they can to improve and put out a quality product instead of pushing forward with a collection that would be difficult. I had no application issues with the shades I was resent and they applied beautifully. So seriously Great Lakes Lacquer – you did an amazing job on this collection!
Color wise, I like the slightly dustier take on the shades as well as a little vamp and a bright shade. It’s a nice transition into Spring shades.
