I have a ton of Great Lakes Lacquer goodies coming at you and they’re all releasing in less than 2 hours (I think) so… go me for being on time at least? We’re going to be looking at the Great Lakes Lacquer Island Horizon Collection, GLL x Quintessential Nails Duo, as well as the Black Hearted Beauties and Lacquered In White Group Customs.
We’re going to start with the collection, which will consist of 7 shades, then the duo which is a polish and a body butter, and finally 2 of the group customs.
So many pretties jammed into 1 post. I love it.
Let’s do this.
Great Lakes Lacquer | Bug ON
Bug ON is inspired by Mariah’s favorite Island visitor, Flick. This is a vampy, burgundy jelly base packed with iridescent flakes that flash purple, pink, orange and green. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Great Lakes Lacquer | Celestial Obsessed
Celestial Obsessed is inspired by that chic owl, Celeste, that makes you hope it’s star wishing time.
This is a lavender leaning pink crelly base packed with shifting shimmer that is slightly larger particle, so it has the fleck like appearance. The shimmer shifts bronze to gold to green to blue, and there’s a touch of scattered holo mixed in as well – but it’s on the subtle side. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Great Lakes Lacquer | Heeere Fishy, Fishy
Heeere Fishy, Fishy is for CJ, and Mariah stole the name from Zucker and it’s what he says when he’s fishing.
Heeere Fishy, Fishy is a pastel multichrome that shifts silvery white to soft gold, to green aqua to turquoise. In the bottle, aqua seems to be the dominant color but on the nail, it’s not. On the nail it’s kind of incredible to kind of see all of the colors at once. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Great Lakes Lacquer | The Bell Boys
The Bell Boys is inspired by those Nook Guys.
The Bell Boys is a leaf green crelly base loaded with bronze and gold iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Great Lakes Lacquer | The Enabling Sisters
The Enabling Sisters is inspired by … the enabling sisters and their clothing will stuff your inventory full and strip you of your bells (I don’t play so I have no idea what’s going on) and this is a violet crelly base loaded with shimmering pastel multichrome that shifts bronze to gold to green and blue, with a tiny bit of holo that adds subtle colorful sparks. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Great Lakes Lacquer | The Real Boss
The Real Boss is inspired by who we all know that REALLY runs the island. If Isabelle could just stick to the news in the morning instead of her other habits…
The Real Boss is a medium corally red crelly base loaded with iridescent flakes that flash purple, pink, red and orange. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Great Lakes Lacquer | Will-O-Wisp
Will-O-Wisp is inspired by our favorite spectre that’s afraid of other ghosts. This is a silver based holographic with different holographic pigments so you get scattered and linear.. and anything that might be in between. There is also some shifting shimmer so you get a delicate pink to blue shift. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Great Lakes Lacquer | Bubble Pop (Magnetic)
Bubble Pop was created for the BLack Hearted Beauties Facebook group, and you do need to be a member to purchase it I believe. You can join the group HERE. Bubble Pop will be available until the end of September.
Bubble Pop is a black jelly base loaded with green to magenta to purple multichrome magnetic pigment, blue to purple iridescent flakes, electric blue microflake and scattered holo. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
In person, you can see the magnetic line better but my camera didn’t want to show you (you can see it a bit on my index finger) due to all the other elements going on.
Great Lakes Lacquer | Flash Your Fins
Flash Your Fins is the Lacquered In White Facebook group custom, and you do have to be a member to purchase this one (again, I think… I could be wrong) so you can join them HERE.
Flash Your Fins is a delicate creamy white crelly base with shimmer that shifts turquoise, pink, orange, and gold with some green at the far edges. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Great Lakes Lacquer x Quintessential Nails Duo
Krystal of Quintessential Nails (but most of you remember her as QueenofNails83!) and Mariah teamed up for an Animal Crossing inspired buo!
Wandering is inspired by Mariah’s favorite KK song. This is an ocean blue crelly with iridescent flakes that shift through purple, pink, red, orange and green, with a fine scattered holographic effect. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Quintessential Nails Head to Toe Whipped Body Butter is a shea butter based body butter. It is smooth and creamy, but densely packed. While it is whipped – it’s not a cream, so it has a smooth consistency that melts when it comes in contact with your body heat. Like most body butters, a little goes a long way, so don’t overdo it or you’ll feel a bit on the greasy side.
Expand The Horizon is a tropical twist of coconut milk and cool vanilla – it smells like a pina colada to me and it smells delicious.
Ingredients: Shea Butter, coconut oil, avocado oil, almond oil, safflower oil, grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E, Argan oil and extra virgin olive oil.
Great Lakes Lacquer | The Island Horizon Collection, GLL x Quintessential Nails Duo and Black & White Group Customs
So much in one spot! I was going to do separate posts, but since it all releases at the same time – I figured it would make more sense to do it in one shot.
I personally have never played Animal Crossing. Nick did for a bit, but I had too much going on so I didn’t get it. However, you don’t have to play to still enjoy the polishes.
Prices: $13.00 Each | $85.00 Full Island Horizon Collection | $18.00 for GLL X Quintessential
