Happy New Year! New Years Eve was officially my 9 year Blogiversary and looking back it’s been an incredible ride. For 9 years I’ve swatched and blogged non stop. I’ve never taken more than a week off from it (and I think that was only on 3 occasions that I actually took a full week off) so.. it’s been a lot of continuous work over that time period. Pretty amazed that I will love doing it, and sure sometimes I get frustrated, but overall – I know I’d miss it if I walked away.

I initially planned on doing something to celebrate, but I’ll leave that for the decade one next year.

Tonight we’re going to take a look at the Great Lakes Lacquer January 2021 Trio, January Limited Edition and the Fantasmic Flakies Group Custom!

Alright so … where to start. Umm I also received the Great Lakes Lacquer Hella Handmade Creations shade, but that will be grouped in with the other 10 or 11 HHC items I got.

All of these release on the 8th, however the Fantasmic Flakes Group Custom requires you be part of their group to order – so I will link that within the polish description.

Other than that – everything will be hosted on the Great Lakes Lacquer site – so lets get into it!

Great Lakes Lacquer | Dreaming of Dragonflies

Dreaming of Dragonflies is the Fantasmic Flakies Group Custom shade. This is a deep purple that pushes just a touch into blurple territory and it’s packed with purple to magenta to orange to yellow to green shifting iridescent flakes, as well as a linear holographic effect that softly accents the flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This shade matte is *chefs kiss* perfection

Great Lakes Lacquer | My Lavendear

My Lavendear is the January Limited Edition shade. This shade was created in response to people wanting a lavender version of Bubblegum, which was an exclusive to the FTLOP box and Curse You, Perry The Platypus.

My Lavendear is a pale lavender crelly base filled with iridescent flakes that shift orange to gold to green, with a subtle scattered holographic effect. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I did take matte photos of this one, but none of the photos came out. For some reason my camera did not want to focus on it.

Great Lakes Lacquer | FTFS

FTFS is described as a blackened cranberry red jelly base base with red to orange shifting shimmer. This is vampy and beautifully done. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Great Lakes Lacquer | No More Beer Holding

No More Beer Holding is a blackened pine green jelly base loaded with icy blue to red to orange to gold shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

WTAF is a deep navy blue jelly base loaded with silvery blue to red to orange to gold shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

All of these are stunning. My favorites are Dreaming of Dragonflies, FTFS and No More Beer Holding.

Application was beautiful on all 5 of them as well!
