Happy Saturday! Yesterday Garden Path Lacquers released their Spring 2024 collection, and it’s called 80’s Fantasy!
This collection is inspired by the movies that shaped our early love for fantasy, magic, and all things adventurous and enchanting. It’s a 6 piece collection of shimmer, sparkling shades.. and I will say right now – the red one (Solace of Shadows) is my must have, top pick of the set.

For the fine details:
I do use Apres Gel X Nails in Extra Short Stiletto which are clear nails. I do not use blurring base coats or anything to increase opacity of the nails – and it shows during my YouTube videos especially. With the clear nails, if you can see through the tip still – then odds are you will also see VNL through the polish I have on. If you cannot see through them, then opacity was likely reached.
I work during the day in a medical office, and on weekends I enjoy day time shenanigans with my son – so most of my swatching is done at night in studio lighting. I also use a fairly basic, older point and shoot camera (Nikon L830) and I don’t do any fun frills to be fancy (quite frankly I’m not a camera person and Nick did the settings and told me not to touch them)

Always Dark is inspired by The NeverEnding Story! This is an azure blue jelly base loaded with bright indigo-to-purple shifting Aurora shimmer and gold holographic microglitter. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Bloodstream of the Universe is inspired by Willow! This is a grass green jelly base filled with large particle copper-to-pink-to-green shifting shimmer and jade holographic microglitter. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

End. Begin. All The Same. is inspired by The Dark Crystal. This is a clear base scattered with large particle pink-to-gold-to-green to blue shifting shimmer and purple holographic microglitter. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

It’s Only Forever was inspired by Labyrinth. This is a dark blackberry jelly base filled with large particle green-to-gold-to-blue shifting shimmer and gold holographic microglitter. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Regret and Love is inspired by The Last Unicorn. This is a clear base filled with large particle pink-to-orange-to-green shifting shimmer, blue holographic microglitter, and holographic microflakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Garden Path Lacquers | 80’s Fantasy : Spring 2024 Collection
This is a nostalgia collection for those of us around in the 80’s. I remember and love all of these movies (Willow and Legend are two I watched 1000 times in my childhood)
I had no application issues with any of these shades – and my top 2 picks are Solace of the Shadows and It’s Only Forever.
