January 2021 | Eurovision: The Story of Fire Saga

Happy Wednesday! USPS finally released my Fandom Flakies box to review (it was shipped on 12/21, it arrived 1/19) so I pushed through with swatches last night so I could post before the preorder was over. So here we go with Fandom Flakies Box for January 2021 with a theme of Eurovision: The Story of Fire Saga!

So this month Quixotic Polish joined as the Guest Maker and picked the theme Eurovision: The Story of Fire Saga. Mary creates stunning flake polishes, so I was excited to see what she came up with along with Bee’s Knees and Night Owl Lacquer.

Ribbits Stickits is also back this month with a single Vinyl Decal and another Acetone Additive! There are no nail decals coming this month. You can purchase the Ribbits Stickits creations separately whether you purchase the polishes or not.

Just to address this really quick – my nails look different, that’s because I have Kiara Sky Gelly Tips on. My nails are suffering from the severe cold and I had a significant break last week and decided to finally try them out. They will not be a permanent thing, but I’m having fun with them for now. They are clear tips, so they do not affect the color of any polish I am wearing or anything like that.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Double Trouble

Double Trouble is a sheer blue tinted jelly base packed with silver holo flakes, as well as green to blue to purple holo flakes. Despite the flake overload, this shade only required 1 coat of top coat to smooth over. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Night Owl Lacquer | Fire Saga

Fire Saga is a black tinted jelly base loaded with red to bronze to gold multichrome shimmer, as well as silver holographic micro flakes and red to bronze to gold multichrome flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Much like the BKL – despite the flake content, this was a fairly smooth polish and only required 1 coat of top coat for a smooth finish.

Quixotic Polish | Speorg Note

Speorg Note is a dusty deep blue leaning teal jelly base loaded with purple to red to gold to green shifting iridescent flakes and a smattering of holo micro flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Again, a smooth finish and only 1 coat of top coat was needed.

Ribbits Stickits | Acetone Additive

Can I just say that I am loving the addition of Acetone Additive to this box? I go through this stuff like crazy and I am enjoying Ribbits Stickits formulation for it.

This month’s Acetone Additive is the scent My Home Town and it’s a house blend of ozone, lily of the valley, citrus, hyacinth, wisteria, orchid, rose, jasmine, crisp rain, salt soaked driftwood, sun drenched volcanic rock, mint, cedar, wood, amber, sea infused florals and musk.

Whew. That was a lot to type out.

My nose actually picks up earthy floral notes from this one, but it has a clean crispness to it. Its pleasant without being too perfumey.

Acetone Additive is a small vial of glycerine, oils and fragrance that not only scents your nail polish remover, but gives it a boost so it’s not so drying on your skin. Shake the vial up to mix the ingredients, and then add half or all of the bottle to your nail polish remover (depending on preference, you may not need the full vial!)

Ribbits Stickits | Vinyl Decal

You Are My Dreamer Vinyl Sticker is a multichrome like appearance that shifts through a vibrant sky blue to peachy pink to gold. I tried catching it in the light so you could see it change. Beautiful and perfect for the sticker itself. Very dreamy.

Fandom Flakies Box January 2021 | Eurovision: The Story of Fire Saga

I really am enjoying this box. I did watch Eurovision when it first showed up on Netflix and it was a fun time killing type movie. It gave me some entertainment while I was busy swatching.
