I’m still settling in at the new place and getting used to using a Mac for everything, but I’m finally hitting my groove. Today we’re going to kick off by taking a look at the Fandom Flakies Box August 2020 which has a Maleficent theme!

Maleficent was the theme this month, and Amanda of Cuticula joins Bee’s Knees Lacquer and Night Owl Lacquer this month. Ribbits Stickits is also here with some vinyl decals and waterslide decals for us!

So basically – as usual, but I know we have a lot of new faces popping up lately – if you buy the “box” you will receive the 3 main polishes shown. If you would like any of the vinyl stickers or waterslide decals – then you add those onto the box price. You can also purchase the vinyls and decals separately without the purchase of the box.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | There’s No Such Thing (Magnetic)

There’s No Such Thing is a blackened jelly base loaded with rose gold magnetic pigment and gold to green ghost flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I show it both magnetized and unmagnetized.

Night Owl Lacquer | Hello Beastie

Hello Beastie is a blackened burgundy jelly base with blue to violet to red crystal chameleon flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Cuticula | I Revoke My Curse

I Revoke My Curse is a deep blue jelly base with chrome chameleon shifting flakes that flash green to blue to lilac to golden green, as well as green to blue to purple micro flakes mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Despite the flake content, I only needed 1 coat of top coat to smooth everything, and there was no texture.

Ribbits Stickits | Waterslide & Vinyl Decals

Ribbits Stickits has 3 Vinyls and 1 sheet of Waterslides for us this month.

I got a little overzealous while filing so some of these images simply didn’t fit my nails without really cutting the images close – which I typically do. But we have no scissors here yet… slight problem… so I used a single image and had to cut it out with cuticle nippers.

But I do love the simplicity of it. The nail base is a smoosh mani using Vapid Lacquers Optimist and Anchor & Heart Mermaid Tears.

Fandom Flakies Box August 2020 | Maleficent

I actually haven’t seen Maleficent yet. Eventually I will, but it will be a bit. We still have a lot going on – and there’s a lot of deliveries so every time I sit down to relax, the intercom goes off and up I go! But it is on my “to watch” list for sure.

For this month, I love the deeper shades. My favorite is the Night Owl Lacquer – the base is deep, and the flakies give off sparks of color and some fade into the background until light hits. I do enjoy all 3 shades though.
