August 2019 | The Office
I have been preparing for this box for at least 3 weeks now, and the time has come. One of my all time favorite shows (I enjoyed the British version too) has come to the Fandom Flakies Box. My son watches this show every night before bed. I have seen this show in it’s entirety at least 12 times now. Today – we’re looking at the Fandom Flakies Box August 2019 The Office.
A little backstory – cause I like to talk a lot and this is my little space to spew my thoughts. When Nick and I met, we hit it off really well and basically moved in together immediately. He packed up his condo in Florida and moved to California. When we started living together, we were in that “what shows can we watch together?” mode, but I hadn’t really watched ANY tv in years. From 2000 – 2008 I wasn’t up to any current shows. I couldn’t tell you what was even on.
He suggested The Office as it was a show he was currently watching. We started at the first season, and I side eyed a little cause I was bored. The character development was slow and Michael Scott was more annoying rather than funny. I wasn’t “into it” and that seems kind of normal. As we neared season 2, I started to get more into it. As time went on, I fell in love with the show. So, while it seems silly – it was the first show Nick and I watched together as a couple. That was almost 10 years ago (we started dating/living together in October of 2009.)
Since then I’ve rewatched it numerous times. My son got into it and I actually just bought him 2 shirts for back to school ( A Dunder Mifflin Paper Co shirt and a Schrute Farms shirt) which he loves and got a good laugh out of. He has Netflix on his TV and you can basically hear it playing every night.
So when I saw Fandom Flakies was taking on The Office, my little heart exploded.
For the August Fandom Flakies Box we have Night Owl Lacquer & Bee’s Knees Lacquer (as usual) and this month Quixotic Polish is the guest maker, and Ribbits Stickits worked their magic with a water slide decal sheet with memorable The Office decals!

Night Owl Lacquer | Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica
Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica. is a light grey leaning khaki crelly base with silver holographic flecks and violet to plum to burgundy to copper ultrachrome chameleon flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Jim: *Dressed as Dwight* “Question, What Kind of Bear Is Best?”
Dwight: “That’s a ridiculous question.”
Jim: “False, Black Bear!”
Dwight: “Well that’s debatable, There are Basically two Schools of Thought.”
Jim: “Fact, bears eat beets.”
Dwight: *Sighs* “Nope”
Jim: “Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica.”
Dwight: “Bears do not… What is going on? What are you doing?”
Dwight: “You know what, Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery so I Thank you.”
Jim: *Pulls Out Bobblehead”
Dwight: “IDENTITY THEFT IS NOT A JOKE JIM! MILLIONS OF FAMILIES SUFFER EVERY YEAR!”
Jim: “MICHAEL!”
Dwight: “Oh that’s Funny, MICHAEL!”
Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Yellow or Dijon?
Yellow or Dijon? is a mustard creme base with glowing red to green aurora shimmer and red to gold multichrome flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This is a little more toned down in person, the red aurora shimmer played up a little more of the yellow for the camera.
Quixotic Polish | Extraordinary Jellybeans
Extraordinary Jellybeans is a blacked berry scattered holographic with multichrome microflakes that shift between gold, copper and green. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Pam: Good morning, Michael.
Michael: Oh, no, no, no, no. I am not Michael. I am Willy Wonkaaaaa.
Pam: Good morning, Mr. Wonka, here are your messages.
Michael: Why thank you very much. [notices jelly beans] Oh, what are those? What are those? Tell me, please!
Pam: Jelly beans.
Michael: No, no, no. They are not just ordinary jelly beans little girl. These are extraordinary jelly beans!
Ribbits Stickits | The Office Waterslide Decals
Ribbits Stickits came through with The Office Waterslide Decals. It has memorable quotes (including “Dwight You Ignorant Slut”) and images of most of the show’s star players.
Waterslide decals are easy to use. Cut out the image you prefer, set it face side up in water (I use a water bottle lid) and after 15 seconds remove it from water, slide the image off the paper backing and place on the nail. Top coat to seal it on.
Fandom Flakies Box August 2019 | The Office
I am so overjoyed with this box and wish more makers were in a box just so I could have more ‘The Office’ themed polishes. All 3 polishes applied nicely, and while I used 3 thin coats, 2 normal coats would work just as nicely. They all have nice opacity.
