August 2018 | The Ocean At The End of The Lane

We’ve got a few things releasing this weekend, and wouldn’t you know.. I’m actually going to be posting most of them on time! Go me. With the work move done, things are falling back into place! Next hurdle? Back to school. It’s next week (eeep) and my not-so-little minion (he’s freaking 5’10” at 12 years old…) is all set to go! 7th grade, here we come.

Today I have another Fandom Flakies Box to share!

For the August Fandom Flakies Box, the fandom is the book ‘The Ocean At The End Of The Lane by Neil Gaiman. I’m not personally familiar with this book, but I’ll definitely be checking it out.

For July we have polishes from Bee’s Knees Lacquer, Night Owl Lacquer, and quest maker Great Lakes Lacquer!

Let’s take a look.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Across The Ocean

Across The Ocean is a deep teal jelly base packed with iridescent flakes that shift green to blue to purple to gold and small flashes of pink. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This shade has a slightly stronger scent, most likely due to the bluish pigment. It dissipates quickly though.

Night Owl Lacquer | That’s Why They’re Monsters

That’s Why They’re Monsters is an off white crelly base with red shimmer, as well as red to pink to copper to gold crystal chameleon flakes and charcoal microflakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The shimmer and flakes have a slightly stronger presence in person.

Great Lakes Lacquer | Monsters Are Scared

Monsters Are Scared is a red toned violet crelly  base with holo microflakes, pink to green shifting shimmer, red to gold to bronze multichrome flakes, and a subtle linear holographic. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Fandom Flakies Box August 2018 | The Ocean At The End of The Lane

Even without being familiar with the fandom inspiration, I enjoyed this box and the variety of shades and finishes. Of course they all have flakes in some capacity (so I’m sure matte would look amazing on them all as well!) but the other elements give them each their own flair.

I had no application issues with any of the 3 shades.
