It’s time to take a look at the Fandom Flakies Box for April 2024! This month we’re visiting the Doctor Who fandom!
Last month there were some changes to the box. Starting last month, there is no longer a guest maker. Every box will have only Night Owl Lacquer and Bee’s Knees Lacquer, and Ribbits Stickits bringing in the themed extras. The box will be smaller – and the price will reflect that change.

If you are newer here, let’s go over the Fandom Flakies basics! So basically Fandom Flakies Box has 2 constant makers – Night Owl Lacquer and Bee’s Knees Lacquer. Ribbits Stickits is also a familiar face to the box – bringing fun add ons to the box to really bring the theme to life. Each month the themes range from video games to tv shows to movies. Sometimes others – but those are the most common. Basically anything with a possible “fandom” is fair game in this box.
Every month when the shop opens there are 40 Ready To Ship boxes made. Usually it will be said as “RTS” and that’s what that means. They are ready to go. Once the 40 RTS boxes are gone – they essentially go into preorder. The preordered boxes will ship between 2-4 weeks after the shop closes. They do aim for sooner but as we all know – USPS has a mind of its own and it’s just not always possible.
Subscriptions are currently unavailable! Anyone with a previous sub will need to resubscribe when the new subscription service is up and running.
Okay – let’s jump in!
Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Don’t Blink 2.0
Don’t BLink 2.0 is a clear base packed with silver holo flakes, as well as aqua to blue to purple and black to red multichrome flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
These flakes are plentiful – however they aren’t densely packed so you can technically use this as a topper too if you wish to. I personally found no need for a glitter smoother either.
Night Owl Lacquer | Brilliant!
Brilliant! is a black jelly base loaded with a rainbow of multichrome color shifting flakes, black metallic flakes and holographic micro flakes. I used 3 thin coats, glitter smoother and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This shade was inspired by the 10th Doctor.
Ribbits Stickits | Un-Frog-Gettable Hanging Car Freshener
This is a fairly new item as an add on for the box, but it’s quite simple to use. Instructions do come with each one as well!
Simply unscrew the wooden lid, pull out the plastic stopper. Screw the wooden lid back on and turn upside down for 3-5 seconds. Don’t hold upside down for too long or it could drip/leak. Then bright right side up and you should see moistened areas of the lid. Now tie to your rearview mirror and scent your car!
Every so often if you feel the scent has faded a bit, turn upside down again to resoak the lid.
Sonic Screwdriver scent description: blend of fresh squeezed orange juice, cranberry juice, and peach schnapps
Ribbits Stickits | Waterslide Decals
These are like temporary tattoos for your nails. I usually cut the image I want off the sheet, set in water for 10-15 seconds, then remove the image from water and place face down on a stamping head. Then I slide the paper backing off leaving just the image on the stamper. Then I stamp the image down onto my nail firmly, lift stamper and then top coat.
There are 2 sheets of decals this month.

Remember – you can grab the Ribbits Stickits items without grabbing the box, as well as the box without grabbing the Ribbits Stickits. I keep saying this because it’s probably the #1 question I get regarding this box.
