Ethereal Lacquer | Vamp Collection

I’m trying to get more posts up quicker as the videos go up, and when PBE was coming up – there was so little time.. I got behind – but that’s my current focus! So today we’re looking at the Ethereal Lacquer Vamp Collection!

The Ethereal Lacquer Vamp Collection launches on August 9th at 6pm Eastern for preorder. All details and links will be at the end of this post.

To see this entire collection swatched on video – be sure to check out my video below!

For the fine details, I do use Apres Gel X Nails in Extra Short Stiletto which are clear nails. I do not use blurring base coats (unless I’m reviewing them) or anything to increase opacity of the nails – and it shows during my YouTube videos especially. With the clear nails, if you can see through the tip still – then odds are you will also see VNL through the polish I have on. If you cannot see through them, then opacity was likely reached.

I work during the day in a medical office, and on weekends I enjoy day time shenanigans with my son – so most of my swatching is done at night in studio lighting. I also use a fairly basic, older point and shoot camera (Nikon L830) and I don’t do any fun frills to be fancy.

Let’s jump in and take a look!

Ethereal Lacquer | Beware

Beware is a warm, deep brick red jelly base with silver magnetic pigment. With the base color the silver pigment almost looks slightly rose goldish. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I used a zigzag magnet on the middle and ring nails so you can see the polish worn both ways.

Ethereal Lacquer | Vampearl

Vampearl is a sheer black jelly base loaded with pearly green to pink to purple shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | All Thorns

All Thorns is a deep, cool toned swampy green jelly base with magenta pearlescent shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The swampy green and magenta give way to the slightly murky purple color that’s primarily shown, but the pinkish magenta does show on the nail at angles. If your nail doesn’t have much of a curve – it may be less noticeable.

Ethereal Lacquer | Bitten

Bitten is a deep wine red jelly base loaded with purple pearlescent shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Ethereal Vampire

Ethereal Vampire is my top pick from this collection! Ethereal Vampire is described as a blood red jelly base with large particle green to aqua to blue shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The base color looks more reddish violet or wine to me personally, but that might be the shimmer just playing with my eyes.

Ethereal Lacquer | Victoria

So this one is a little special and is made for Victoria (VictoriaEShen on IG) and for those not aware – Trisha from The Polished Mage, Victoria and I talk online pretty much every day and have for over a year. We spent a lot of time together at Polish & Beauty Expo and I simply adore her.

Victoria is a muted mushroom brown jelly base with magenta pearlescent shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Entwine

I think this is the shade that everyone is going to see a tad different depending on how many coats, thickness of coats, blurring base or not and such.

Entwine is a mossy almost olive green jelly base with purple to pink to red shifting shimmer and micro holo flecks. I used 3 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

If you want the green base to be more obvious, stop at 2 coats – however more VNL will show. When I build up to 3 it looks more like an blackened olive brown base.

Ethereal Lacquer | Mine, All Mine

Mine, All Mine is a mauvy rose jelly base with bronze pearlescent shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

$5.00 per bottle donated to The National Canine Cancer Foundation.

Ethereal Lacquer | Velvet Dagger

Velvet Dagger is a soft brown jelly base loaded with purple to pink shifting shimmer, as well as silver magnetic pigment. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I only magnetized the middle and ring nails to show it both ways.

The shimmer, base color and silver pigment gives the polish a taupey lavender tinge.

Ethereal Lacquer | Vamp Collection

I fully expected to see more red or black in this collection – but as a purple lover – I’m not complaining.

My top picks are (in order) Ethereal Vampire, Velvet Dagger, Entwine and Victoria.
