Tons of new Essie landed on my desk recently, but seeing Essie Treat Love & Color in new shades got me really excited! Before this set of 4, there were only 3 shades created – so this bumps it on up to 7. They kept with the “office safe” styled shades but the new ones offer a bit more opacity than the previous.
What is the Essie Treat Love & Color line? It’s an advanced 1-step nail care + color range with 60% less peeling and 30% less breakage in just one week to your nails. No base or top coat required.
The initial 3 shades that debuted (you can check them out HERE) were sheer and had a touch of shimmer. Perfect for brightening the appearance of your nails while giving a nice wash of color. The 4 new shades that have been released are more opaque and range from a pale baby pink to a mauvey chocolate brown.
Let’s take a look!
Essie Good Lighting
Essie Good Lighting is a creamy cafe au lait beige. I used 2 coats for these photos, no top coat.
Essie On The Mauve
Essie On The Mauve is a light milk chocolate brown with a mauve tinge to it. I used 2 coats and no top coat for these photos.
Essie In A Blush
Essie In A Blush is a super pale baby pink. I used 2 coats and no top coat for these photos.
Essie Pink To Perfection
Essie Pink To Perfection is a beautiful carnation pink creme. I used 2 coats and no top coat for these photos.
Essie Treat Love & Color New Shades Overview
I’m happy to see Essie expanding on this line. One thing to remember is that the Treat Love & Color line isn’t so much a nail polish line, but a nail care line from Essie. While the colors may not be the visually bright and bold shades, they aren’t meant to be. They are more for neutralizing nail color while improving your nails health. However, if you like the idea of them, but the 3 debut colors were too sheer for your personal tastes, now there are more opaque options for you.
I personally don’t have peeling or brittle nails, so as far as those claims go, I honestly can not tell you one way or the other if they improved. I am mentioning this for full disclosure. I can only show the colors available, I can’t actually say whether they helped my nails or not. Life gave me icky skin, but incredibly healthy nails. We can’t have it all I guess!

All 7 colors are now available, so if you liked the idea of the collection before, but weren’t keen on sheer shades – then now is your time to try it and see what you think. If you’ve previously tried these, I’d love to hear your thoughts and whether they helped you out of not!

I’ve really been digging soft shades lately and Pink to Perfection is so dainty and pretty I need it! Essie always does such pretty shades, you’re going to make me go broke with all your swatches :D
I love these neutrals! Soft and light so nails look great but aren’t overly loud.
I want that In a blush color. So gorgeous!!!
I really like all of them, this is a pallet I would buy the complete set in.
