Press Sample of the Don Deeva
May 2019 Release
I had every intention of having this post up last night, but I had to head to my son’s school for his Open House, and I honestly left the school a little irritated. Most years there’s some work displayed in the classes – so we see projects done in class we didn’t see at home kind of thing… and there was nothing. 7 classes and nothing out to see. Just teachers in the class at their desk and… that was it. Not sure what the point of doing Open House was really? I want 2 hours of my life back from that. It took 35 minutes to drive there, 20 minutes to go to ALL SEVEN classes and then an hour to get back home due to rush hour traffic. When I got home, I just wasn’t in the mood to type because of it.
So now you get to see my review of the Don Deeva May 2019 Release today!
With this release we had 12 new polishes. Shimmer was the bigger theme this release, but we have some magnetics, thermals and a glow in the dark too!
These already launched last Friday, so you can still snag them on the Don Deeva site. All links will be at the bottom!
Let’s jump right in
Don Deeva | Berried Treasure
Berried Treasure is a deep purple with red shimmer and heavy holographic and iridescent flecks. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Don Deeva | SubLIME Cereal
SubLIME Cereal is a pale, slightly hazy lime green jelly base with small and medium hot pink dot glitters mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Don Deeva | Highlighters & All Nighters
Highlighters & All Nighters is a neon yellow jelly base loaded with aurora shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
The yellow is brighter in person. I also am not 100% sure what color shift this aurora shimmer has, the brightness of the yellow makes it hard to tell.
Don Deeva | Von Doupes
Von Doupes is a sister polish to Von Douche. This is a deep teal jelly base with original red to gold to green unicorn pee shimmer, as well as sister UP shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Don Deeva | Rocket Man
Rocket Man is hands down my favorite from this release. And it’s not just cause it’s a magnetic – I absolutely love that when the magnet is used, the pigment just sucks into the center and leaves the surrounding area 80% shimmer free for a very sleek look.
Rocket Man is a deep navy blue, almost back, base with gold, green and copper shifting magnetic pigment. I used 3 thin coats, top coat and a standard bar magnet for these photos.
Don Deeva | Cucci Not Gucci
Cucci Not Gucci is a medium lavender base loaded with unicorn pee for a red to gold to green shift, as well as a lilac shimmery shift. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Don Deeva | Fat Cats & Face Tats
Fat Cats & Face Tats is a collab shade with Delanie of Fat Cat Pawlished! This is a warm, slightly pink leaning red jelly base loaded with unicorn pigment and all her sister pigments. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Don Deeva | Antidote
Antidote is a black (cold) to light beige/colorless (depending on how many coats you use) when warm. It’s filled with original unicorn pigment and sister pigments. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
It’s been really warm here, so the thermals I received don’t stay in the cold state long enough for photos to be done.
Don Deeva | I Unfollowed You
I Unfollowed You is a deep purple when cold to a violet leaning magenta when warm, filled with unicorn pigment and sister pigments as well as Aurora shimmer and holo microflecks. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Don Deeva | 1-800-You Wish
1-800-You Wish is a microglitter mix that glows green in the dark! There’s a mix of micro silver holo glitter, as well as pink and blue microglitters. I used 3 thin coats and 2 coats of top coat for a smooth finish.
Don Deeva | Sicko Mode
Sicko Mode is a deep eggplant to burgundy multichrome scattered holographic with gold to green to copper to teal magnetic pigment. I used 3 thin coats, glossy top coat and a standard bar magnet for these photos.
Don Deeva | Frozen Tartini
Frozen Tartini is a deep cherry chocolate (cold) to a vibrant red (hot) with aurora shimmer and holo flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Don Deeva | May 2019 Release
I have another item to share that will be in it’s own post as I am testing it out. It’s the Cello Butter and so far, so good!
I had no application issues with any of the shades, and my top 3 from the release are: Rocket Man, Sicko Mode and Highlighters & All Nighters.
