With all the brights, neons and pastels being thrown our way, we’re going to tone it down a bit with Deborah Lippmann’s Painted Desert collection for Summer 2015.
This is a 4 piece collection with neutral shades that scream Fall, but I’ve never been one to strictly stick to season trends. I wear neons in December and vampy shades in March – I love them all!
Shifting Sands
Shifting Sands is an almond beige creme and the lightest of the collection. I used 2 coats for this photo and I’m actually looking forward to using this one with neon shades for nail art.
Terra Nova
I wasn’t 100% sure how to describe this color… and then my boyfriend did a Starbucks run (I love that man) while I worked on posts and it matches the caramel in my Caramel Ribbon Crunch frap. It was the one shade in the collection I wasn’t sure about, but it grew on me. I used 2 coats for this photo.
Desert Moon
Desert Moon is a green toned grey creme and reminds me almost of the grey you see in army fatigues. I used 2 coats for this photo and while I love the color, but I had minor self level issues. You can sort of see the ripples in my nails.
Love In The Dunes
Love In The Dunes is my favorite of the collection. This is a dusty deep mauve grey creme. I used 2 coats for this photo.
Overview
I knew when I received these that some people may not be ready for the neutrals to this extent just yet, but this was a well done set and is perfect for a desert themed collection. Application was good overall and I only had some minor self leveling issues on Desert Moon. I was also rather surprised that all 4 shades worked well with my skin tone, usually neutrals can be iffy on me!

I really love these shades! This is a wonderful set of neutrals. Great swatches!
These are very nice shades. I’d really like to see a gradient done with them.
There are definitely neutrals for all skin tones here – Desert Moon would be my pick!
I can’t pull off camel/caramel colors, but I still love the look of this collex. The green and purple are my faves!
Hello Desert Moon and Love in the Dunes!
Terra Nova sure is unique, I don’t have anything like it in my stash.
I like all but Shifting Sands! Great swatches.
Terra Nova is a very pretty caramel color! Excellent swatches :)
What a distinctive collection! I love the shades and I definitely love DL polish
Oooh I love how this is a departure from the typical summer brights. They’re gorgeous colors!
I normally only like bright colors for polish but these look so pretty and classy heheh I could use a little of that in my life :)
Beautiful swatches! Shifting Sands is my fav from these.
Love In The Dunes is my definite favorite! So pretty!
Love in the Dunes is gorgeous.
Interesting colors for summer. Not what you would usually think of, which I like.
I know I shouldn’t but, I covet your nails! What a beautiful review.
Love in the Dunes is fabulous. So different than anything I own.
More like pre-fall shades to me. Still beautiful ‘tho
Deborah Lippmann makes some of my favorite polishes of all time.
I love Terra Nova and Desert Moon! It’s refreshing seeing shades I’d link up to Fall come out in the Summer
Desert Moon is so pretty!
These shades are gorgeous. I only own one DL nail polish and sadly I’ve only used it once in the year I’ve had it. smh
I haven’t purchased a DL polish in forever but Terra Nova and Desert Moon are calling my name!
This whole collection is fabulous, I’m really loving these types of shades!! Maybe it’s because I’m seeing nothing but brights, hahaha! LOVE LOVE LOVE Love in the Dunes!!
