Chirality Nail Polish MC Chris For The Win Collection Swatches and Review

I have a special post on the blog tonight!  Not only is this another “new to me brand” but I’m also extremely flattered that I was asked to review Chirality Nail Polish.  The creators husband emailed me asking me to review for his wife’s brand.  He informed me that Amanda (the creator) was too shy to ask me to review for them, but really wanted me to.  I’m in a couple of groups with Amanda and I really do love most of her creations.  I don’t actively approach indie makers to review for them because I understand that the cost for bloggers to review would be out of their pocket.  If they are looking for bloggers, I may throw my name into the hat, but outside of that, I don’t approach indie makers.  To read that she wanted me to review – I was excited!  He said she wasn’t aware he was emailing me – so … SURPRISE AMANDA!

The collection I was sent is the MC Chris For The Win Collection!  This collection is a hybrid of glitter and holo polishes that are inspired by Jason and Amanda’s mutual love of certain songs from nerd rapper MC Chris. These particular songs were favorites of Jason’s that he put on a mixed tape for Amanda to listen to during her chemo sessions. She wound up loving the songs too so it was only natural for them to pay homage to his artistry.

I had the day off from work, so I was able to get some outdoor shots of these polishes as well!

Emo Party:

Emo Party is probably my favorite in the collection.  Emo Party is a medium grey jelly base with very fine holographic shimmer within and small to large red hex glitter.  I used 3 coats for this photo.

Outdoors you can see some of the holographic shimmer come out!  The red glitters against the grey base is really pretty as well!

Fett’s Vette:

Fett’s Vette is a medium sky blue jelly base with holographic shimmer, holo micro bar glitters and holo hex glitters.  I used 2 coats for this photo.

Nrrrd Grrrl:

Nrrrd Grrrl is another favorite!  This is a pink toned red with matte black and white glitters in square hex and circle shapes.  I used 2 coats for this photo and it’s was really pretty and squishy!

Distant Lands:

Distant Lands is a VERY busy polish!  This is a dark mint green jelly base with holographic shimmer mixed in along with black hexes and squares, purple hex glitters, large matte black circles and large holographic circles.  I used 3 coats for this swatch, and I really liked this one!  The mixture of colors is unique to my collection, and I love it when I get a unique polish!

Love how this one looks outside!  Very pretty!

Potato Cakes:

Potato Cakes is the fifth and final polish of the MC Chris For The Win Collection!  This is a fiery orange jelly base with gold holographic glitter shreds, small gold and white glitter particles and gold and white hex glitter. I used 3 coats for this photo.

So the sun was going down, so I didn’t get a great outdoor shot of this one.  Sorry!

Overall this was a nice collection.  Most are unique colors and glitter combos to my collection which is great!  It’s getting harder and harder to say “I don’t own anything like this” when reviewing polishes, but I can say that with a few of these!  Application was good.  All 5 reached a good level of opacity within 2-3 coats of polish.

My top picks:  Distant Lands, Nrrrd Grrrl and Emo Party

The MC Chris For The Win Collection is set to release on July 27th (the Saturday!)

Each bottle will cost $8.00

Hmm… As usual, awesome swatches by Lisa, of an awesome brand – both husband and wife. I’m lucky to adore everyone involved. *applause*

Haha, MC Chris is one of the last people I’d expect nail polish to be themed after, but these are so pretty!
