This post is one I’ve been itching to do for about 3 weeks since I received the polishes, but since it was almost the end of tax season, I didn’t have a ton of time to do a 12 piece collection right away, and since they are neons – I knew they would take a little more time to try to grab color accurate photos, or at least fairly close. Now, since I have a 4 day weekend, I had some extra time, and I have the China Glaze Summer 2016 Lite Brites Collection to share with you!
I’ll admit, I’m not the most camera savvy. When I bought my camera over a year ago, my boyfriend set it up and said “don’t touch anything!” and I’ve listened for the most part. So photographing neons has been difficult because they are tricky and require some finesse which I don’t seem to possess. Because of that, my skin tone might seem a little darker in some shots because I had to tone down the exposure to get the color closer to being accurate.
Now that I’ve rambled, let’s move onto what you are really here for… The China Glaze Lite Brites Collection!
Bite Me
Bite Me is a hot coral like pink with gold shimmer throughout. It’s got a bit more pink to it in person. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Hot Flash
Hot Flash is a bright tomato red creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I Got A Blue Attitude
I Got A Blue Attitude is a blue toned violet with a very delicate blue shimmer laced throughout it. The shimmer doesn’t show up too well on the nail though. This shade is a bit darker in person as well. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I’ll Pink To That
I’ll Pink To That is a neon medium neon pink creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Let’s Jam
Let’s Jam is a gorgeous lavender creme base with a subtle blue shimmer throughout it. Perfect Spring shade. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Lime After Lime
Lime After Lime is a neon lime green creme. First coat of Lime After Lime was streaky and a bit chalky like. Second coat evened it out a bit, but I needed a third coat to cover all patchiness.
Lip Smackin’ Good
Lip Smackin’ Good is a neon light (pastel?) watermelon pink creme with an incredibly subtle hot pink shimmer throughout. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This shade is more pink in person and a bit brighter.
None Of Your Risky Business
None Of Your Risky Business is a neon yellow toned orange creme. It’s a bit brighter in person. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Papa Don’t Peach
Before I get into the description, I’ve gotta say I am disappointed this isn’t actually peach.
Papa Don’t Peach is a neon red toned orange jelly base with gold microglitters. It is bright in person, my camera freaked out a bit. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
While I wish it were peach because of the name, I still like the polish in general.
We Got The Beet
We Got The Beet is a bright red toned violet jelly base with gold and iridescent microglitter. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Whip It Good
Whip It Good is a bright yellow creme. This isn’t neon, but it’s bright. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. This had a fairly typical pastel formula – streaky on the first 2 coats, then evened out on the third.
What I Like About Blue
What I Like About Blue is my #1 pick from the collection. This is a gorgeous bright turquoise with shimmer. This one dries to a matte, and it dries fairly fast – so if you wait too long it will drag while painting. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
China Glaze Summer 2016 Lite Brites Collection Overview
Overall, I love this collection. I was expecting a bit more difficulty with application from what I had read online, but I honestly didn’t have too many issues. Lime After Lime and Whip It Good needed 3 coats because the first 2 were streaky, and Papa Don’t Peach and We Got The Beet also needed 3, but those have a jelly base, so it was sort of expected. Other than that – I didn’t have any issues.
My top picks from the China Glaze Summer 2016 Lite Brites Collection are: What I Like About Blue, Let’s Jam, I’ll Pink To That, Hot Flash, Bite Me and Lip Smackin’ Good.
China Glaze Summer 2016 Lite Brites Collection will be available April 1st at Ulta, Sally Beauty Supply and other fine salons for $7.50 each

Hot Flash is definitely my favorite!
Lip Smackin Good is my kind of shade, but I don’t have anything like Lime After Lime and Whip It Good. Gotta check these out
What a gorgeous collection! I want We Got the Beet!
I love the colors in this collection. I could definitely wear every single one of them, which is pretty rare for me.
Let’s Jam would be perfect for me. I like the ones with that subtle shimmer a lot too.
These are all so gorgeous and bright! I love them!
Lovely collection, I like the purples the most
I haven’t bought any CG in a while, but I really like these! The bright pastels are so pretty.
This is a gorgeous collection and I love the pun-ny 80’s names. I want all of these.
This is such a fabulous collection for summer!
I love EVERY SINGLE COLOR in this collection!!! And yes, neon’s suck to photograph but yours look amazing.
I love how bright these shades are but they still seem like they can be easily worn by anyone. Sometimes neon shades scare me because they make my skin look old when I use them… but these look really good… I have my eyes set on a few that I think I’ll love.
This is such a gorgeous collection! I love so many of them!
[…] definitely feels like a Fall collection, but after doing a lot of neons for China Glaze – it was a nice change for my camera (and my eyes!) Application wise, the only one that I had […]
Beautiful, vibrant shades. I especially like Let’s Jam and I Got A blue Attitude. .
