I mentioned the other day that this year’s Winter and Holiday collections are a bit different than usual. Today’s post is a perfect example of that. The China Glaze Seas and Greetings Holiday 2016 Collection took a completely different spin on a holiday collection!

Doesn’t this feel like a Spring collection? Like late Spring/early Summer?

The China Glaze Seas and Greetings Holiday 2016 Collection is inspired by the oceanside (in case you couldn’t really tell my the name) so all the names kind of mingle the ocean and the holidays. Very different. While some other collections added in a bright color or 2, China Glaze kind of went all out with a more tropical feel.

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Starfish

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Starfish really is more of a topper, but I wanted to show it alone for some reason. This is a green to gold shimmer iridescent flake topper in a VERY lightly tinted sea green base. I used 3 thin coats alone for these photos.

Snow Way!

Snow Way! is a super pale (almost white) baby blue crelly base with coppery red shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Eat, Pink, Be Merry

Eat, Pink, Be Merry is actually one of my favorites from this collection. This is a medium candy pink crelly base with pink shimmer. It has a nice glowy look to it. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Sand In My Mistletoes

Sand In My Mistletoes is a light neutral peach creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Good Tide-ings

Good Tide-ings is pretty much the perfect periwinkle creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Let’s Shell-ebrate

Whenever I say the name of this polish, I sound like I’ve already had a few too many piña coladas.

Let’s Shell-ebrate is also more of a topper, but capable of being a standalone shade. It’s a clear base with semi densely packed iridescent gold flakes and violet glitters and shimmer. I did 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Partridge In A Palm Tree

Partridge In A Palm Tree is a turquoise matte with silver shimmer. I really wanted to like this one as a matte, but it was streaky and applied uneven. Top coat helped, but on it’s own, it had an almost chalky appearance and needed patience for application.

Shown above is 2 coats, no top coat. I’ll show 2 more photos like this, then I’ll show with top coat, which I prefer.

Seas And Greetings

Seas And Greetings is a medium cool toned purple jelly base packed with coppery red shimmer. This was the sheerest of the 12 shades, but final look is totally worth the 3 coats.

Joy To The Waves

Joy To The Waves is a stunning blue jelly base with gold and green shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top for these photos.

Warm Wishes

Warm Wishes is a pink leaning coral creme with a VERY subtle gold shimmer. My photos aren’t completely color accurate and there is more pink visible in person.

I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Tis The Sea-Sun

Tis The Sea-Sun is a bright orange leaning coral creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

It’s a touch more red in person than my photos show.

The More The Berrier

The More The Merrier is a vibrant berry red base with a ton of magenta shimmer packed in. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Of all the Winter and Holiday 2016 collections I’ve seen this year so far, this is the most non traditional one. I’m more drawn to these types of shades, so I am loving it. I will admit though, I’m missing some vampy shades. I feel like my collection is leaning much more bright and light this year instead of deep and vampy. At least 90% of this collection had really good application and formulas, so I’ll look past the vamplessness ;) The only shade I didn’t care for formula wise was Partridge In A Palm Tree, which was a shame because I really liked the color in the bottle. Slap on a top coat and it’s much better though.

I feel like I’m rambling.
