OMG Flashback Collection
I am so excited to share the China Glaze OMG Flashback Collection with you today! Back when the original OMG collection released, I wasn’t blogging yet. Back then I got my nails done at a salon, usually just a simple French Manicure on my acrylic nails. By the time I got into doing my own nails, sans acrylic, the price for the original China Glaze OMG Collection was too much for this poor mama.
But the China Glaze OMG Flashback arrived, and it’s just as beautiful as I had hoped!
For the majority of my swatches, I did use my indoor lighting. I get home from work at night, so I had very little sunlight to work with. I did manage to do a skittle mani of 5 of the shades and snap a picture outside before the sunlight disappeared though – it will be at the bottom of the post.
The original OMG release had 12 polishes, and for the 10 year anniversary, 6 were brought back for the Flashback set.
Okay so circling back, I missed out on the originals, so I cannot comment on how these differ from the originals. Judging from photos, they are actually incredibly similar as far as color and holo flair. I have heard that the formulas of the new ones are slightly thicker and more opaque – but I can’t say that with certainty.
Let’s take a look at each shade.
China Glaze TTYL
China Glaze TTYL is a warm copper linear holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
China Glaze OMG
China Glaze OMG is a silver linear holographic. I used 2 coats for these photos.
China Glaze IDK
China Glaze IDK is a medium purple linear holographic. I used 2 coats for these photos.
China Glaze 2Nite
China Glaze 2Nite is a medium blue linear holographic. I used 2 coats for these photos.
China Glaze BFF
China Glaze BFF is a medium purple leaning pink linear holographic. I used 2 coats for these photos.
China Glaze DV8
China Glaze DV8 is a vibrant teal linear holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
DV8 lightly stained my cuticles, so when using – use a good base coat and don’t rub the polish with remover. Gently place the cotton ball over the nail, hold a few seconds and swipe up.
Now a sunlight photo! This is rare.. so.. yeah.
From thumb to pinkie – OMG, TTYL, 2Nite, BFF & DV8
China Glaze OMG Flashback Collection
Okay so personal thoughts – I’m happy. I’m happy with the release and that 6 of the 12 were brought back (a little is better than nothing!) and that visually (from what I’ve seen) they do appear similar to the originals. When I first heard China Glaze was doing an OMG Flashback collection, I didn’t want to get too excited in case they were way off from the original release.
Application wise, they went on very smooth. The brush was a skinny brush but spread nicely for application and the opacity built up perfectly in just 2 coats for all 6 shades.
As I’ve mentioned before, my light setup isn’t holo friendly – but it still was able to pick up the holo within these shades in the closer shots. They all have a very pretty “fluid” looking holo arc that I really enjoy. I’ve had people ask before what I mean by “fluid” and for me it is just a very smooth, almost water like arc with few “particles” to break the appearance up. I hope that made sense?
My Top Picks: OMG, DV8 & IDK

If you missed out on the original release, now is the time to snag a few. It isn’t the full 12, but at least it’s halfway there.
Will you be picking any of these up?

They did an incredible job!
I love these colors! My daughter would really enjoy exploring different designs and patterns like these, she is always coming up with something pretty for her nails.
Oh I love how sparkly these nails are. I need a nail polish like this. Mine are boring colors that I’ve probably had for like 13 years.
The TTYL (copper) is my fav, but I love them all!
I used to own DV8! Love it!
wow, they are especially stunning in the sunlight! love the OMG color
I am going to need to get every single one of these colors. They are so pretty!
I love them all but BFF is my favorite I think. They remind me of the wild nail polish I used to use as a preteen . . . so fun and sparkly!
Ooo so pretty!!
I love all of these but the China Glaze OMG is my favorite! I know my daughters would go crazy for these colors too. I’m definitely keeping these in mind for holiday gifts!
Wow what great colours! I love the metallic finish and how they sparkle too! I love a bold fingernail, I think its fun to experiment with different shades.
These colors are so full! That is most important to the product I choose to use.
Wow, these colors just jump right at ya! They are all so pretty!
Thanks for such a great review and really letting us see what the colours are like. Can’t decide which one is my fave yet. By the way, how in the world do you get such great looking cuticles Lisa?
Every Sunday I have a cuticle care session I do! I apply Trind Cuticle Remover to keep them cleaned up, then Trind Cuticle Balsam. Throughout the week I use Vapid Nail Sauce and Vapid Cuticle Oil
All of these colors are so pretty. I love the holographic ones especially!!
WOW! These are gorgeous. Love the DV8.
