I’m still pushing out posts and almost caught up after the Black Friday rush! Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving break and got some goodies. My spoiled little boy pretty much scored for Christmas and we got a great deal on an Xbox One bundle and a PS4 (saving that for his bday in February though) plus Nick will be building him a brand new computer to be able to play Minecraft a bit better. I bought a few things for myself as well, all polish of course.
Now onto today’s post. I have the China Glaze Holiday 2015 Cheers collection to share with you! I actually was very excited for this collection following their Fall 2015 The Great Outdoors collection (check it out if you missed it). There were a lot of hits in this collection for me and it definitely gets you into the holiday spirit.
Let’s take a look
Better Not Pout
China Glaze Holiday 2015 Cheers Collection Better Not Pout Swatch
Better Not Pout is a medium berry with a metallic shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Brand Sparkin’ New Year
China Glaze Holiday 2015 Cheers Collection Brand Sparkin’ New Year Swatch
So I’m still a little on the fence about this shade. I like the concept of it, but almost wish the jelly base wasn’t so sheer. You can layer it over a purple creme to fix it of course. But I do love the overall thought of this shade.
Brand Sparkin’ New Year is a sheer, deep purple jelly base backed with purple and silver holographic glitters. I used 3 thin coats for these photos.
Break The Ice
China Glaze Holiday 2015 Cheers Collection Break The Ice Swatch
Break The Ice is a silver holographic shred glitter top coat. I used 1 coat over China Glaze Mix and Mingle. I didn’t have application issues and got a nice amount of shred glitter for only 1 coat.
Bring On The Bubbly
China Glaze Holiday 2015 Cheers Collection Bring On The Bubbly Swatch
Bring On The Bubbly is a classic holographic gold hex glitter top coat. I used 1 coat over China Glaze Wine Down For What and a top coat. I got great glitter distribution with this one as well.
Coal Hands, Warm Hearts
China Glaze Holiday 2015 Cheers Collection Coal Hands, Warm Hearts Swatch
Coal Hands, Warm Hearts is another jelly based shade in the collection. Again, I wish the base wasn’t so sheer, but it’s easily fixed with a black base color. This is a black jelly base filled with black glitters and silver holographic glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Don’t Get Elfed Up
China Glaze Holiday 2015 Cheers Collection Don’t Get Elfed Up Swatch
Don’t Get Elfed Up is a beautiful blacked teal base with teal shimmer that shifts to a beautiful purple. This was hard to capture but I took an extra photo or 2 to see if I could get it! I used 3 thin coats for these photos.
I Soiree I Didn’t Do It
China Glaze Holiday 2015 Cheers Collection I Soiree I Didn’t Do it Swatch
I Soiree I Didn’t Do It is a sheer teal jelly base with densely packed teal and silver holographic micro glitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. This is my favorite of the jelly shades.
Mix And Mingle
China Glaze Holiday 2015 Cheers Collection Mix And Mingle Swatch
I adore a good purple, and this is a good one! Mix And Mingle is a vibrant medium purple crelly. I used 3 thin coats for these photos and a glossy top coat.
Peppermint To Be
China Glaze Holiday 2015 Cheers Collection Peppermint To Be Swatch
Peppermint To Be is a warm red crelly base with gold shimmer packed into it. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Son Of A Nutcracker
China Glaze Holiday 2015 Cheers Collection Son Of A Nutcracker Swatch
Son Of A Nutcracker was a favorite of this collection. This is a vibrant orange toned coral with orange shimmer giving it an almost metallic appearance. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Ugly Sweater Party
China Glaze Holiday 2015 Cheers Collection Ugly Sweater Party Swatch
Ugly Sweater Party is a sheer red jelly base with pink, blue, red and holographic silver hex glitters mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Of all the jelly glitter shades, this one had the sheerest base for me.
Wine Down For What?
China Glaze Holiday 2015 Cheers Collection Wine Down For What? Swatch
Wine Down For What? is a vampy red creme with some brown tones to it. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
China Glaze Holiday 2015 Cheers Collection Overview
This is a holiday collection with a fairly classic look. Overall I do like more shades than I was just so so on. My only issue was that the jelly shades were just a little too sheer for my tastes, but as I said – that’s easily fixed with a base color to darken it up. Aside from that, I am happy to see them branching out in the last couple of collections. It was the duochromes in the Fall collection and now the jellies in this one, so while they weren’t totally for me, I am glad to see more aside from the traditional cremes and metallics of the holidays. Son Of A Nutcracker, Mix and Mingle and Don’t Get Elfed Up are my favorites of the collection.

I love all these shades but you know I need the glitters in my life!
Great holiday collection! I like Wine Down For What best, but they are all beautiful
What a beautiful holiday collection, and as always your macro shots are extraordinary!
I love all the reds in this collection! Better Not Pout is my favorite!
Many are pretty but I like Don’t Get Elfed Up the most. It feels more unique.
I haven’t been into many CG shades the past while but there are some great ones here. Mix and Mingle is amazing!
stunning nails (as usual) and collection
These are all gorgeous!
I love all the glitter toppers here but I actually like the sheerness of Brand Sparkin New Year. It makes the polish stand out, IMO.
Omigosh – I will take one of each of those :D So pretty.
I love this whole collection, but I actually like the glittery jellies the most!
Wine down for What? is my favorite :)
[…] At? with the jelly bases and holo glitters. I remember they had some jelly based shades in the Holiday 2015 Cheers Collection, but the jelly bases were really sheer and I wasn’t a huge fan. This time around, the jelly […]
