Harry Potter Inspired Indie Collaboration Box
Last year I had the pleasure of sharing the Cast A Spell Box with you all, and I was asked to do the 2018 edition as well! So here’s a look at the Cast A Spell 2018 | Harry Potter Inspired Indie Collaboration Box!
This year we have 5 polishes from 5 different makers, water decal stickers, two Harry Potter themed vinyl stickers, a witch broom pen and a random Harry Potter sticker.
Each polish is named after a spell (hence the name ‘Cast A Spell’) and I have to say, I love how these were created. I also know each of these makers really have a love for Harry Potter, so it adds a special touch to each creation!
Let’s jump in and take a look – the Cast A Spell box releases on July 31st at 1PM and will be available until August 7th!
Night Owl Lacquer | Prior Incantato
Prior Incantato is a teal jelly base filled with red to green to gold aurora shimmer, micro holographic flakes and crystal chameleon flakes that shift copper to red to gold to green, as well as silver to red to aqua. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Prior Incantato (The Reverse Spell) was a spell that forced a wand to show an “echo” of the most recent spell it had performed
Stella Chroma | Expelliarmus
Expelliarmus is a beautiful red chrome base that shifts to gold at extreme angles and has heavy gold shimmer, as well as iridescent flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Expelliarmus is a spell that removes an object (often a wand) from the recipient’s hand.
Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer | Reducto
Reducto is a bright pool blue with ultrafine blue shimmer and larger particle aurora shifting shimmers that go from teal to indigo. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Reducto is a curse that can be used to blast solid objects into pieces
Nvr Enuff | The Unbreakable Vow
The Unbreakable Vow is a blackened blue base with purple sparkle and shift, with a linear holographic effect and pink to orange shifting flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
An Unbreakable Vow is a magical spell of unknown incantation, in which one witch or wizard makes an oath to another. If either of the two break their terms, they die.
Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Nox
Nox is a black jelly base loaded with iridescent flakes that shift a rainbow of color, as well as silver holographic flakes, I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Nox is a spell causes the light at the end of the caster’s wand to be extinguished. The counter-charm for the Wand-Lighting Charm (Lumos).
Ribbits Stickits | Harry Potter Water Decals
Ribbits Stickits has this amazing Harry Potter themed Water Decals as well! I used 3 of them for the below mani, plus my pinking has a splattering of all 5 polishes shown above.

These are the extra bonus goodies! The witch broom pen and silver sticker are from Night Owl Lacquer and the vinyl decals are from Ribbits Stickits!
Cast A Spell 2018 | Harry Potter Inspired Indie Collaboration Box
This is a seriously incredible box whether you are a Harry Potter fan or not. I personally am, and Harry Potter was among the first “big boy books” I gave my son and I used to read them to him before bed. As he got older, he would then read them with me and eventually he took over reading to me. Now he reads them on his own. Harry Potter will always have a special place in my heart because it brings a lot of happy memories.
I had no application issues with any of these polishes (or decals!) and they are pretty darn amazing.
