butter LONDON Lippy and Lacquer Sets Swatches and Review
I have been absolutely DYING to try out butter LONDON Lippy’s as well as their matching nail lacquers! Lippy’s are brand new to the butter LONDON line and for me are a welcome addition! “Lippy” is British slang for someone who makes impertinent or cheeky remarks.. hmm.. I know a few people like this.
I had the opportunity of reviewing Teddy Girl and Trout Pout! You ready for this?
We will start with Trout Pout. The name alone makes me smile. Since the release of Trout Pout Nail Lacquer with butter LONDON’s Spring 2012 line, I couldn’t help but think of :

Trout Pout is cruel slang for a woman who has “over done” the collagen in her lips, leaving her with a rather fishy face. I didn’t want to post an actual woman’s face, so the fish will do.
Here is a side by side of Trout Pout Lippy and Nail Lacquer.
Trout Pout is an opaque shade of cantaloupe. Very pretty for Spring and Summer! I used two coats of Trout Pout with no issues. Dry time was about 6 minutes between coats!
Trout Pout Lippy isn’t quite as vibrant on the lips as it is on the nails, but it is still a pretty shade! See the comparison:
Trout Pout Lippy is slightly sticky going on, but once on it feels more like a lipstick than a lipgloss. The sticky feeling goes away after a minute or two, which made me happy. I’m not a huge fan of sticky lipgloss. Coverage is good and wear time lasted me about 3 hours.
Next up is Teddy Girl!
Sorry, no snazzy image for this one!
“Teddy Boys and Girls” was a youth culture movement in Britain typified by teens fighting , drinking, shagging and fighting some more.
Side by side comparison of Teddy Girl Lippy and Nail Lacquer:
Teddy Girl is a pale, retro, bubblegum pink. I really love this soft shade! I needed 3 coats to get to an opacity I was comfortable with. I had slight streaking issues on the first and second coats, but three seemed to be the magic number. Dry time was about 5 minutes per coat and I topped this one off with a glossy top coat.
Once again, Teddy Girl Lippy is a little darker than Teddy Girl Nail Lacquer!
Teddy Girl Lippy was a tad too light for my skin tone, but still pretty. Much like Trout Pout, it felt like a lipstick once on and was only slightly sticky on application. It is also slightly darker than it’s matching nail lacquer!
butter LONDON Lippy’s are available in 5 shades currently, which are Trout Pout, Primrose Hill Picnic, Yummy Mummy, Teddy Girl and Snog. I plan on picking up Snog and Primrose Hill Picnic sets soon!
butter LONDON Lippy products do not contain parabens, petroleum, phthalates, sulphates or bismuth, and as always, their nail lacquers are 3-Free!
butter LONDON Lippy’s retail for $17.00 and contain.24 fl oz per tube.
butter LONDON Nail Lacquer’s retail for $14.00 and contain .4 fl oz per bottle.
You can purchase butter LONDON Lippy’s and Nail Lacquers online at www.butterlondon.com, as well as fashion boutiques, specialty retailers and beauty apothecaries around the globe.

Wow! I don’t own any Butter London’s yet, but I might pick up Trout Pout with my next paycheck. Thank you for another fabulous review sweets!
It’s my pleasure Sarah! Let me know if you pick up Trout Pout :) Are you grabbing the polish, the Lippy or both?
How was the scent of the Lippy’s? I’m sensitive to most lipgloss smells so I was curious. Thank you! These look lovely.
The scent was almost nonexistent to me. It didn’t have the vanilla smell, or a plastic like smell (to me). No taste really either. If you are sensitive to normal gloss smells, you should be ok with this one!
Love love love!
Thank you Marni!
If you pick up Snog I would love to see it! I keep seeing them at Ulta but always hesitate =(
I will definitely post a review once I pick up Snog! I plan on getting it in the next couple of weeks!
Teddy Girl is a perfect baby pink! Thank you for swatching these!
As always Myra, it was my pleasure! Teddy Girl is a gorgeous baby pink!
These are adorable and would be great for spring/summer.
You actually make it appear really easy together with your presentation but I to find this topic to be really something which I feel I’d by no means understand. It kind of feels too complex and very vast for me. I am having a look ahead on your subsequent put up, I will try to get the hold of it!
Heya! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any issues with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing a few months of hard work due to no data backup. Do you have any methods to protect against hackers?
