butter LONDON Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection Swatches and Review

butter LONDON rarely makes a polish I don’t want.  With most collections the promo pics sell me, swatch unseen, but then when I swatch them I am completely blown away.

This collection was no exception.

Today I have the butter LONDON Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection to show you!  5 gorgeous polishes that are perfect for the season!

Dodgy Barnett:

Dodgy Barnett is described as a a highly holographic lacquer in a classic shade that blurs the line between grey and silver.   I used 3 coats to reach full opacity, but this polish also doubles as a nice holo topcoat!  I did use a glossy topcoat for this photo and it did not dull the holo to Dodgy Barnett at all!

Trustafarian:

Trustafarian is described as a golden holographic which gives this delightful sage green nail lacquer a surprising and sophisticated edge.  Holo wise, it isn’t as strong as the holo in Dodgy Barnett, but it is definitely still there.  I needed 3 coats for Trustafarian to be opaque and I was able to use a top coat as well without the holo dulling.

Shag:

Shag is just a gorgeous metallic finish polish.  Shag is described as a high-shine, warm orange-burgandy metallic nail lacquer. Reminiscent of fallen Autumn leaves.  Brush strokes were not very visible for this metallic beauty and I only needed 2 coats for full opacity.  No top coat for this photo either.

Lovely Jubbly:

What a great polish name.  I’m easy to entertain, so yes I did giggle when I first saw the name.  Lovely Jubbly is described as a vibrant magenta nail lacquer flecked with red, blue and gold micro-particles. This sultry glitter channels a distinctly retro, 70’s feel. High impact sparkle for Disco Divas.  I used 3 coats and no undies for this mani.   These are thirsty glitters so it required 2 thick coats of top coat for a smooth finish.

Gobsmacked:

Gobsmacked was my standout favorite of the 5!  While I truly loved each polish, for some reason Gobsmacked was just WOW for me!  I have worn this six times since I got it…. I don’t wear too many polishes twice let alone six times.  Gobsmacked is described as a heavily pigmented charcoal grey glitter nail lacquer with a slightly textured finish.  The glitters in this polish are extremely fine and I actually only needed 2 coats for  full opacity.  I added 2 coats of top coat  to smooth it out as well.  I did find that I had better luck with longevity on Gobsmacked if I used a sticky base coat with it.

This is definitely a collection you don’t want to miss!  And with Christmas right around the corner, I’m sure these would make amazing stocking stuffers!   I saw that Cyber Monday (tomorrow!) has some butter LONDON deals you should watch for on their website!

You can find butter LONDON on their Website or shops like Nordstroms, ULTA and Macy’s.

butter LONDON Nail Lacquer retails for $14.00 per bottle

Have you picked up any lovelies from butter LONDON’s Autumn/Winter line?  Do you plan on it?  I would love to hear about it!
