I’m fairly big into subscription boxes and have a few I dabble in from time to time. I also have a few that I’ve dropped from my subscription list. I was curious about BoxyCharm and had heard some good things about them, so when I got an email asking if I wanted to try it out and review a box on my blog, I was excited to see what they had to offer.
My box arrived this past Thursday, so here is what I received in my May 2015 BoxyCharm and my initial thoughts.
When opening the box I was greeted by the statement Bold & Beautiful. It says:
Be bold. Be bright. Be beautiful. Charmers, this May, go beyond your comfort zone and boldly dare to be your own kind of beautiful.
My box has 5 full size items, which I really loved. A lot of boxes have a mix of samples, deluxe samples and full sized – but BoxyCharm had 5 full sized items.
Here are all the items laid out. It’s a nice mix of products. I received a bronzer, a lipstick, an eyebrow trio, an eyebrow brush and a nail polish.
Let’s look at each item individually.
ModelCo Bronze Shimmer
ModelCo Bronze Shimmer is a nice bronzer shade for my skin tone. It’s not too dark but not too light. It has a slightly fine shimmer to it that gives off a shimmery effect without being too childlike.
ModelCo Bronze Shimmer Retails for $22.00
The Lip Bar Lipstick in Kiss Me
The Lip Bar Lipstick in Kiss Me is a coral matte lipstick. The tube looks amazing and I love the packaging. The color itself isn’t for me, but I would check out other shades by this brand.
The Lip Bar Lipstick Retails for $20.00
Bodyography Essential Brow Trio
This might be my favorite item in the box. Bodyography Essential Brow Trio is well pigmented and the medium shade is a good match for my eyebrows. Application was easy and the texture was silky.
Bodyography Essential Brow Trio Retails for $19.00
Bodyography Brow Brush
I liked that BoxyCharm included a brow brush to go along with the brow trio. I do have some already, but not a dual ended one, so this will be good for traveling.
Bodyography Brow Brush Retails for $19.00
Lauren B Beauty Nail Polish in #ImJuicing
Lauren B Beauty is a new brand for me, and overall I liked it – but the color isn’t for me. I might use it during my adventures in nail art, but as a stand alone color, I won’t be reaching for it.
Application was smooth and I used 2 coats for these photos.
Lauren B Beauty Nail Polish Retails for $18.00
Overview
This box had a lot of good products, but 2 of the colors were a miss for me. It did get me interested in the brands though. 3 products I will continue use, so it was still a decent box and one I would continue using,
Cost: $21.00 per month
Total Value of Box: $98.00

My initial thoughts on the box are good. For $21 per month you get 4-5 full size items in your box, so it’s good to know I wouldn’t be spending $21 on deluxe samples. Although only 3 products are great matches for me, those 3 items have a value of $60 so it was still a good deal.
What did you think of my May BoxyCharm subscription box? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Pretty nice box! I loooooove the lipstick’s packaging and shade (I think I remember seeing these guys on Shark Tank!) and the nail polish shade looks amazing on you! <3
Thank you Shipra!
What a great value! I’m sorry that two of the colors selected were a miss for you, but everything looks really nice!
Even though 2 colors were misses, I still feel like I got a good value from the box!
From everything I’ve seen over the past few months, Boxycharm is well worth the money!
It seems to be! I usually wait for 3 months of a box to fully determine, but this first box really impressed me overall
We got the exact same box! IDK how I feel about the polish but now that I’ve seen it swatched on you my hopes are much higher!!
The polish had a more Spring like vibe once I put it on. In the bottle I thought it would be more of a pea green
The Lip Bar packaging is really cool.
I really love it!
It’s a nice box for the price!
It definitely is!
I hadn’t heard of Boxy Charm, but I love that they offer full size items!
I constantly spent my half an hour to read this blog’s content daily
along with a mug of coffee.
I thought they were supposed to have a Makeup Geek item in May’s box??
