So I only meant to swatch this set today – but I did a sneak peek of a video and then started showing a few more photos… so I might as well just do the full post. So tonight… at 12:28am – we’re going to look at the Bluebird Lacquer The Neon Shimmer-Chromes Collection!
The Neon Shimmer-Chromes Collection is a set of shimmer filled brights inspired by seabirds! The shimmer within each one gives each shade a lovely shift to add a bit more pizzaz. One thing I will note is that these neons aren’t eye-searing neons. They are bright but the shimmer tones them down a smidge and it gives the shimmer a chance to shine as much as the base color.
I show all of these with a glossy top coat, and the final photo of each set will show the polish matte.

Bluebird Lacquer | Less Is Murre
Less Is Murre is a bright orchid purple jelly base loaded with gold to orange to chartreuse shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This polish is difficult to photograph because in the bottle it looks more purple due to the jelly base, but on the nail (for me) it went more orchid pinkish due to the shimmer. The lighting is going to change this one pink to purple depending on if the base or the shimmer is dominating. Since my light set up is direct lighting – the shimmer won so it pulls more pink for me.
Bluebird Lacquer | Much Ado About Puffin
This is the shade I did a video of and it’s one of my weakness shades. I love a good coral.
Much Ado About Puffin is a bright orange leaning coral jelly base packed with orange to yellow to pink shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
The pink shift in the shimmer is stronger in person – for some reason the orangey shades flipped my camera out and didn’t want to show the pink shift properly.
Bluebird Lacquer | It’s Pelican Not Pelican’t
It’s Pelican Not Pelican’t is a bright banana yellow jelly base loaded with gold to green shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
When the green shift hits this shades takes on a slight chartreuse lean.
Bluebird Lacquer | Booby Trapped
Booby Trapped is a turquoise jelly base with blue to green to purple shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This is my top pick of the set. I do love Much Ado About Puffin – but this one I put on and just fell in love.
Bluebird Lacquer | Frigate About It
Frigate About It is a hot pink jelly base loaded with pink to gold to orange shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This has a bright base and the shimmer helps amplify it a bit more.

And there we have it! All 5 neon shimmer chromes in both glossy and matte. My top picks from this set are definitely Booby Trapped and Much Ado About Puffin – two of my weakness colors for Summer since I love them for both nails and toes.
Application was good with all 5 shades and i didn’t experience any visible brushstrokes or issues.
