Fan Favorites 2016 Collection
You might start to see some posts coming out over the next week in fairly rapid succession. Not completely back to back, but a couple a day. Starting August 29th I am on VACATION! Where am I going… NOWHERE! I’m staying at home in my pajamas (Jacob will be at his father’s house that week) and Nick and I will be relaxing, playing video games and watching Netflix.
I cannot wait.
Anyways, I have several reviews and swatches to get done before my week long hiatus – so let’s get to it. Today I have the Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer Fan Favorites 2016 Collection, plus the 2 newest Sirens to share with you!
Several of these shades have been shown on my blog before in their respective collections as they released, but a couple were brand new to me. One polish was brought back from LAST years Fan Favorites collection, and with good reason. I think this years Fan Favorites is a roundup of some of my personal favorites over the years too.
Let’s take a look at which shades were brought back for this limited time.
Fire In Your Eyes
Fire In Your Eyes is a red jelly packed with blue to pink shifting glass flecks. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
She’s Electricity
She’s Electricity is a hot pink linear holographic with pink and aqua glass flecks and purple-blue iridescent microglitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Sordid End
Before I even go into a description I’m going to just say that everyone needs this polish. This is my second bottle of it and I will be ordering a third bottle when it releases again. This polish has a gorgeous glowy quality and application was perfection.
Sordid End was in last years Fan Favorites as well, so it REALLY is a Fan Favorite.
Sordid End is a periwinkle crelly base with blue to purple shifting shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I’m Dr. Martha Jones, Who the Hell Are You?
I’m Dr. Martha Jones, Who the Hell Are You? is a bright fuchsia creme with green to gold to blue shifting glass flecks. It dries down to a satin finish (nature of the beast when it comes to bright shades in this color family) While super easy to use, I did need 3 coats for full opacity.
Flash Forward Fantasy
Flash Forward Fantasy light beige with violet micro flakies and a strong pink to gold shift. It dries down matte (and actually looks really good this way) but I also included top coat photos. Shown is 2 coats, no top coat.
Flash Forward Fantasy with Top Coat
The One Worth Leaving
The One Worth Leaving is a deep, vampy berry jelly base with pink and purple glass flecks that give off sparks of color. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Cold Inside Me
Cold Inside Me is a medium teal creme base with blue to teal shifting glass flecks. Cold Inside Me dries down to a semi satin finish. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Hydrangea
Hydrangea is another shade that wowed me all over again when I applied it. This is an incredibly pale pastel blue crelly base with purple, blue and aqua shimmer mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Lilac Blondes On The Beach
Lilac Blondes On The Beach was created by Corrine Loftus since she was the Fan Design winner! This is a sandy beige linear holographic packed with purple shimmer and purple microflakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I found the consistency to be good with this shade, but because of all the goodness packed inside it, make sure each coat has fully dried before moving onto the next or you might drag the previous coat.
Three Years and S-Teal Going!
Three Years and S-Teal Going! is an bright turquoise crelly packed with clear holo microglitters and purple to blue micro flakes. I used 3 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
A few of the Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer crellies can be a little on the thick side and this is one of those for me. I’ll need to add a few drops of thinner to my bottle because it was just a bit thicker than I like and you can tell in my photos.
Colorwise – it’s fabulous, formula wise – just needs a little thinner and I’ll be good to go.
Along with the 10 shades in the Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer Fan Favorites Collection, 2 Sirens released as well and both are currently available to purchase in the shop! I’ll show those below!
Xoxo, Siren
Xoxo, Siren is a medium grey creme base with blue to purple to pink shifting shimmers. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Siren’s Shore Haven
Siren’s Shore Haven is a pale pink linear holographic with pink to purple to gold shifting glass flecks and platinum micro shreds. While this shade FELT smooth to the touch, it has a slightly textured look with top coat because of all the flakes involved. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer Fan Favorites 2016 Collection Overview
There are some serious beauties selected for the Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Fan Favorites 2016 Collection, and it’s easy to see why they were favorites! The shimmers are incredible and I definitely need to grab another Sordid End and Hydrangea. For the most part, I had no application issues. My bottle of Three Years And S-Teal Going was really thick and I will need to thin it a bit more to my liking, but other than that everything was nicely done.
