At 32 years old, I do still have some minor acne issues. I hate it. So more often than not I am willing to try new skin care items and HOPE they work.
I’m going to be sharing Apothederm Acne Clarifying Treatment with you today.
Two reasons this product interested me – first of all, it helps to eliminate breakouts AND it helps to minimize pore size. Those are my 2 biggest skin gripes. I can deal with the fact I have oilier skin, or that I get flakey skin in other areas. I’ve found decent skin care items for that, but the breakouts and pore size? Nothing that seems to work well in the long term. I have some short term primers and such that are temporary fixers, but I would love for them to stay that way for a bit longer.
Back to the review though!
The Apothederm Acne Clarifying Treatment instructs me to use it one time a day to start, and then gradually move up until I am using it three times a day. This is because it can cause excessive drying. If you build up and the dryness becomes bothersome or peeling occurs, you should back down to 1 time a day.
So I started at one time a day and moved up to 2. My skin was dry and flakey and itchy from being so dry. I went back to 1 time a day and that seemed to work decently well for me.
The dispenser of the bottle is a pretty standard pump bottle. I only needed to apply a thin layer every day, so I found that 2 pumps was the perfect amount for me. I didn’t have any left over and my face wasn’t swimming in product.
Apothederm Acne Clarifying Treatment isn’t thick but it isn’t runny and it’s light weight, which I like. There isn’t much of a scent though. The closest I would describe it as is a very watered down hand sanitizer. It was incredibly faint, which I like in a face product. There is nothing worse than having to slather a smelly face product night after night. This one is incredibly tolerable though.
Overall though, I am seeing some results. I’ve only been using it 3 weeks and my pores do appear a little smaller and my breakouts have toned down. I have gotten a couple pimples here and there though, but not a cluster of them like I tend to get. If I was able to deal with the dry skin better, I would up it to 2 or 3 uses a day to speed up results, but I haven’t just yet.
I do plan on doing an updated post once the bottle is empty and say whether I just had “lucky skin” the past few weeks or if the product really is working. Right now, I do think it’s the product, but hard to tell in just 3 weeks.
Price: $32.50
Where To Buy: Apothederm Website
Have you tried any of the items in the Apothederm line? I’m considering purchasing the full Acne Clarifying System Kit!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
