What is HiMirror? It’s a virtual at-home beauty consultant within a high quality smart mirror. HiMirror comes with the mirror, brackets for installation on either a wall or a larger mirror and a power adapter. I personally don’t hang things on walls, so after seeing Makeup Life and Love (check her post out too!) use a large photo easel, I fell in love with the look and picked one up.

To get started with your HiMirror, you download their app and set up an account. This way you can take the data it collects with you on the go. Once you have your account created, you are ready to set up the HiMirror’s facial and voice recognition. That’s right, it’s that personalized.

HiMirror includes a VERY easy to follow step by step set up of their mirror. The activation process is very clear and easy to follow (even for tech challenged individuals like me)

Once you have your HiMirror installed, you download the app (available for Android and iPhone), pair your HiMirror with your WiFi and you are ready to go.

Once you have it set up, it’s time to do a skin analysis. I know, not the most flattering shot, but for a proper analysis, HiMirror wants your face to be bare and relaxed. This way it gets a proper analysis to help you out.

Make sure the camera is eye level (no matter how you use it. In a holder like I did or mounted) when you use it as well for a proper analysis.

One thing that will take a little getting use to with the HiMirror is the hand gestures. It does go through an onscreen tutorial to help you out, but you switch screens and select options by waving your hand in front of the sensor located at the bottom of your HiMirror. Once I had my hand positioning right (flat palm, facing mirror with fingers straight) I was good to go, and it worked really well for me.

Ok now for the even more fun part. HiMirror comes equipped with a high-resolution camera, built-in speakers and a microphone. You can  also stream music through HiMirror while you get ready. I’m a music lover, so I absolutely LOVED this option!

With the app, you can take your analysis with you, get skincare tips and a world’s first intelligent skincare beauty box allows you to manage your existing products and maximize their effectiveness. Pretty neat, right?

HiMirror is a wonderful addition to any beauty junkie’s vanity. If you have skincare questions, and aren’t sure where to start, this helps! I knew I had enlarged pores, but it also let me know I had redness that I guess I never paid attention to. I am always so concerned about dry spots or oil (combo skin) that other things got ignored. But now with HiMirror, I can focus on products that help all around.

HiMirror retails for $189 USD on the HiMirror website which is actually a lot less than I expected. When looking at other beauty tools and gadgets I own, this is actually reasonably priced for all of it’s capabilities.
