KBShimmer Spring 2013 Collection Swatches and Review

Who else is ready for Spring and all the pretty, happy, bright shades associated with it?  I didn’t realize how much I missed those kinds of colors until Spring polishes started rolling in!

Today I have the KBShimmer Spring 2013 Collection to share with you!  Owner Christy Rose says “With Easter, warmer weather, and Spring Break fast approaching February is the ideal time to introduce softer pastels to our lineup, but also to add a splash of bold color.”  The Spring 2013 Collection consists of 9 gorgeous polishes and not 1 of them disappoints!

I was also sent the KBShimmer ‘Clearly On Top’ fast dry top coat with these polishes that I will be reviewing as well.  I have used it as a top coat for each swatch you are about to see!

Where My Peeps At:

I’m going to start this off with the one that surprised me the most!  I’m not a fan of yellow by any means, but I loved this polish and the name!  Where My Peeps At is a yellow crelly base with multi colored circle glitter and small glitter particles mixed in!  I think I already know what polish I’m wearing for Easter this year!  I used 3 coats for this photo and the KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Lottie Dottie:

When I saw the Press Release, I know I would LOVE Lottie Dottie!  Lottie Dottie is a soft white crelly base with turquoise and fuchsia circle glitters, micro bar glitter and glitter particles.  I used 3 coats for this photo and Clearly On Top.  Perfect application and a fun polish!

Spring Training:

Spring Training is the only scented polish in the collection.  It isn’t a strong scent by any means and I found it rather pleasant.  The scent is a floral freesia, and again, it’s not a strong scent.  Spring Training is a soft mint green crelly base with pink, purple, blue and pink hex glitters as well as glitter particles.  I used 3 coats for this photo!

Iris My Case:

Iris My Case is a pastel violet crelly base with silver, purple, pink and blue hex glitters in medium and small.  I used 3 coats for this photo and Clearly On Top top coat!  I’m a purple lover, and of course I feel in love with this one!

Get Clover It:

St. Patrick’s Day in a bottle!  Get Clover It is a beautiful green jelly base with micro shimmer and green, turquoise and gold circle glitters mixed in!  I used 3 coats for this mani and Clearly On Top top coat.  Love the squishy look to it and the circle glitters look like little coins!

Closeup:

I Got A Crush On Blue:

I Got A Crush On Blue is a sparkler!  A royal blue jelly base with micro holo glitter as well as small to large silver holo hex glitters mixed in!  3 coats was all I needed for this one as well!

Closeup:

Pastel Me More:

Pastel Me More is one of the 3 glitter top coats in the collection!  Pastel Me More is a mix of  pastel rainbow glitters ranging from micro to medium hex glitters all in a clear base.  Because of the variety of colors in this top coat, it can be used over so many pretty base colors!  I used 1 coat of Pastel Me More over OPI Care To Danse? then topped it off with Clearly On Top top coat.

Squared Away:

Squared Away is a fun glitter top coat! Squared Away has various sizes of square glitters in blue, fuchsia, pink, turquoise and silver holographic in a clear base.  There are also micro blue glitters and micro blue bar glitters mixed in as well!  I used 1 coat of Squared Away over OPI What’s With The Cattitude (and I really love this combo!) then topped it off with Clearly On Top top coat!

A Dot Mess:

I’m going to show A Dot Mess in two different ways.  Above is 1 coat over OPI Lincoln Park After Dark which I REALLY love the look of… but you can’t see the glitters involved because of how dark the base is. So… here it is over OPI My Pointe Exactly:

Here you can see A Dot Mess is made up of fuchsia and black circle glitters, micro glitters and micro bar glitters all in a clear base!  I used 1 coat of A Dot Mess for both photos and topped both off with Clearly On Top top coat!

Closeups of both:

And last but not least – here is the top coat I have been using for all of these pictures!  KBShimmer now carries her own Clearly On Top fast dry top coat.  While all of her nail polishes are 3-Free, Clearly On Top is only 2-Free.  I liked using it,  it dried fast, had a glossy finish and smoothed out all of the glitters completely.  Lately I have been using Seche Vite as my swatching top coat, and the first thing I noticed is that Clearly On Top doesn’t have the strong smell that Seche has.  I used Clearly On Top over night and it didn’t shrink Iris My Case (the color I wore overnight) so that is a HUGE plus!  You can find Clearly On Top in the KBShimmer Shop.  A 15 ml bottle retails for $5.00 and a 7ml bottle retails for $3.00.

Overall – this whole collection is a HIT!  I’m in love with each polish.  Application was amazing, no glitter clumping up, everything laid flat on the nail and pigmentation of all the crellies and jellies was PERFECT!  What an amazing collection to kick off the Spring season!

The KBShimmer 2013 Spring Collection will be available to purchase on February 15th and you can purchase them HERE on the KBShimmer website.  They will also be available on the Harlow & Co. Website for purchase HERE (this is the option for international purchases!)

Each bottle retails for $8.75 and each bottle is .5 fl oz

Make sure you go to the KBShimmer Facebook page and click “Like” for updates and swatches of past as well as upcoming collections!

So what do you think?  Will you be snagging any of these polishes when they release?

I love them all, but especially Where my Peeps At!!! I seriously dislike yellow, but that one is amazing! All the KB Shimmers I’ve tried have been perfect, so I will definitely need to pick some of these up – thanks for the great swatches :)
